  Our Lihir Operation, located on the beautiful island of Niolam, approximately 800km north of Papua New Guinea's capital, Port Moresby, is one of the world’s largest gold mines. Set within a geothermically active, extinct volcanic crater, Lihir operates an open-pit mine producing refractory ore, which undergoes pressure oxidation and conventional leaching to recover gold. Our workforce includes both residential and commute rosters, creating a diverse and dynamic team. Lihir offers a range of recreational facilities, including a gym, sports club, restaurant, bar, swimming pool, tennis and squash courts, and a 9-hole golf course. We are seeking an experienced Team Lead, Mine Technology Services (MTS) to lead the delivery of critical technology and communications services that support safe, reliable and productive mining operations at our Lihir operation.

##### Purpose

Reporting to the Lead, Digital Lihir, you will provide operational and technical leadership across critical mine technology and communications services including operational technology systems, communications networks, radio and LTE infrastructure, and fleet management systems. You will lead a team responsible for maintaining reliable technology services across the operation while fostering a strong culture of safety, accountability, customer service and continuous improvement.

##### Essential Duties

Lead, coach and develop a high-performing Mine Technology Services team. Ensure the reliable delivery of mine technology and communications services across site. Manage technology support, service delivery and performance. Build and maintain strong relationships with operational and business stakeholders. Manage vendors, contractors and external service providers. Support the planning and delivery of technology projects and upgrades. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and customer experience. Promote safe work practices and compliance with company standards. Contribute to business continuity, risk management and operational readiness activities

##### Training & Experience

Leadership experience within Mine Technology Services, Telecommunications, ICT Infrastructure, Technology Operations or a related technical environment. Experience leading technical or operational support teams, strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, vendor management experience and strong communication, coaching and problem-solving capability.

Experience in telecommunications and communications networks, ICT infrastructure and networking, technology operations and support services, service delivery management, wireless and radio communications systems, enterprise technology environments, critical infrastructure operations and industrial or mining-related technology environments will be highly regarded.

Qualifications

Degree, Diploma or Trade Qualification in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Engineering or a related discipline. Relevant industry certifications will be highly regarded.
