Senior Software Engineer

- Backend-focused software engineer with strong experience in designing, implementing, and operating software systems in production.

NATURE OF WORK

- Design and build backend services and solutions that support product and platform capabilities.

- Independently lead medium-to-large software engineering projects from requirements clarification, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.

- Develop and maintain Java and Spring Boot services that are reliable, scalable, secure, and maintainable.

- Build cloud-ready solutions using AWS services and established engineering standards.

- Navigate technical dependencies with other engineering teams, product owners, quality engineers, SRE, and other stakeholders.

- Improve existing systems through refactoring, automation, observability, and operational improvements.

- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

- Proficient in Java, Object-Oriented Programming, and Spring Boot framework.

- Familiar with AWS services used for application hosting, storage, messaging, monitoring, and deployment.

- Able to lead execution of a technical design into a concrete, production-ready implementation.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.

- 5-7+ years software development experience, or equivalent demonstrated capability.

- Solid experience in Java and Object-Oriented programming and design.

- Specific experience with Spring Boot framework.

- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.

- Experience with AWS services and cloud-based application development.

- Experience with relational or NoSQL databases.

- Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, and production troubleshooting.

- Experience with Microservices is a plus.

- Experience with distributed systems is a plus.

- Experience with Kubernetes or containerized deployments is a plus.
