About this role

Since 1998, DSS Consulting has specialized in business intelligence, analytics and custom software development. As pioneers in data mining and data quality assurance in Hungary, we help our clients choose and implement solutions that address their business challenges.

We are looking for a Data Solution Architect to join one of our telecommunications partners.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

- End-to-End Data Solution Design: Design enterprise data pipelines and architectures covering source system extraction, streaming and batch ingestion, transformation, bronze/silver/gold storage layers, semantic modelling and business consumption across BI, customer value management and AI/ML.
- Lakehouse & Semantic Architecture: Design cloud-native Data Lakehouse solutions using AWS services such as S3, Redshift, EMR and Athena. Develop enterprise semantic layers and reusable data products.
- Legacy DWH Modernization & Migration: Define migration patterns, parallel operation approaches, data cutover strategies, reconciliation mechanisms and historical data archiving for transitions from legacy platforms, such as Teradata, Oracle and MSSQL, to a Cloud Lakehouse.
- Architecture Alignment: Ensure solution designs comply with the enterprise target architecture, Data & AI blueprints, the Enterprise Data Model and cloud infrastructure standards.
- Data Governance, Lineage & Security: Embed metadata management, end-to-end data lineage, data quality monitoring, stewardship, retention policies and security controls into solution designs, including role- and attribute-based access control, data masking, classification and GDPR requirements.
- Architecture Review & Approval: Present and justify data solution designs and architectural decisions to architecture review boards. Address approval conditions, architectural risks and technical debt.
- AI & Advanced Analytics Enablement: Collaborate with the Data & AI Lead Architect to support integration with machine learning solutions, feature stores, knowledge graphs and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and large language model (LLM) data pipelines.
- Delivery & Operational Readiness: Guide data engineers and delivery teams throughout development, testing, data reconciliation and operational handover. Ensure implementation follows the approved high-level design and supports DataOps, alerting and service-level requirements.
- Cross-Domain Collaboration: Work with lead architects, the Chief IT Architect, Information Security, Infrastructure and Cloud teams, and external technology partners to resolve architectural trade-offs, dependencies and risks. Collaborate with the IT Architecture Office on architecture governance.
- Non-Functional Requirements: Define and validate requirements for availability, disaster recovery, performance, scalability, observability, security and privacy. Address ingestion throughput, processing windows, data freshness, query performance, retention and storage cost optimization.
What we expect from you:
