About this role

COMPANY OVERVIEW

We exist to make food the world loves. But we do more than that. Our company is a place that prioritizes being a force for good, a place to expand learning, explore new perspectives and reimagine new possibilities, every day. We look for people who want to bring their best — bold thinkers with big hearts who challenge one another and grow together. Because becoming the undisputed leader in food means surrounding ourselves with people who are hungry for what’s next.

OVERVIEW

• Lead the engineering, operation, and continuous improvement of infrastructure supporting third-party Enterprise Applications (E-Apps), with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) as the primary cloud environment.

• Own hands-on infrastructure engineering across cloud and hybrid environments, including secure design, provisioning, migration, deployment, capacity, reliability, and lifecycle management.

• Drive Infrastructure as Code and automation using Terraform as the primary tool, supported by Ansible, Python, and Shell scripting; use PowerShell where required for Windows administration.

• Partner with solution teams, Enterprise Applications stakeholders, security, network, and service teams to define hosting standards, technical specifications, operational readiness, and support models.

• Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and promote standardization, observability, ITSM discipline, and secure-by-design practices across the E-Apps platform.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Operate and continuously improve the E-Apps infrastructure estate, including availability, performance, capacity, resilience, disaster recovery, patching, upgrades, and platform lifecycle management.

• Design and provision GCP infrastructure using approved architecture and security patterns across compute, networking, IAM, load balancing, DNS, certificates, logging, monitoring, storage, and secrets management.

• Build reusable Terraform modules and deployment patterns and develop Ansible playbooks, Python utilities, and Shell scripts to eliminate manual work and improve deployment consistency.

• Administer and troubleshoot web and application platforms including IIS, JBoss, and Apache, with understanding of Java application hosting, reverse proxy configuration, SSL/TLS offload, certificates, ports, and application integrations.

• Implement observability and operational insight using Datadog and GCP monitoring/logging capabilities, including dashboards, metrics, logs, traces, alerting, health checks, service-level indicators, and actionable runbooks.

• Apply ITSM practices across incident, problem, change, service request, knowledge, and major-incident management; maintain accurate operational documentation and participate in governance and change reviews.

• Act as a senior escalation point for outages, complex incidents, root-cause analysis, vendor coordination, security findings, and recovery activities; drive permanent corrective actions.

• Establish standards and governance for configuration, access, automation, monitoring, vulnerability remediation, backup, recovery, and operational readiness of new and existing applications.

• Mentor team members and coordinate support coverage while promoting knowledge sharing, effective handoffs, and continuous improvement across the platform team.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: Full-time bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information technology, or a related technical discipline from an accredited university.

• Experience: 8–12 years of experience designing, implementing, operating, and supporting complex infrastructure and enterprise application environments, including high-availability and mission-critical systems.

• GCP — primary requirement: Strong hands-on experience with GCP services and architecture, including Compute Engine, VPC networking, IAM, Cloud Load Balancing, Cloud DNS, SSL certificates, Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, Secret Manager, storage, and hybrid connectivity.

• Terraform — primary engineering keyword: Demonstrated experience creating maintainable Infrastructure as Code, reusable modules, environment configuration, state management, policy controls, and automated provisioning at scale.

• Scripting and automation: Strong Shell scripting and Python experience for operational tooling, integrations, validations, remediation, and workflow automation; practical experience with Ansible for configuration management and application/platform automation.

• Web and application infrastructure: Hands-on understanding of IIS, JBoss, and Apache administration, configuration, troubleshooting, patching, reverse proxying, Java application hosting, SSL/TLS, certificates, load balancers, and integration with enterprise applications.

• Observability: Good hands-on experience with Datadog and/or equivalent observability platforms, covering monitoring, logging, tracing, dashboards, alerting, synthetic or endpoint checks, and incident correlation.

• ITSM and operations: Working knowledge of ITSM practices and operational controls, including incident, problem, change, service request, major-incident, SLA, knowledge-management, and root-cause-analysis processes.

• Systems and troubleshooting: Working knowledge of Linux and Windows Server, networking fundamentals, firewalls, DNS, identity/access, relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL, and vendor-supported enterprise applications.

• Leadership: Ability to lead technical initiatives, manage competing priorities, communicate clearly with technical and business stakeholders, and mentor junior engineers.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Cloud breadth: Working knowledge of AWS and Azure administration; GCP remains the primary cloud requirement for the role.

• Delivery practices: Experience with CI/CD pipelines, source control, release automation, DevOps practices, and secure software delivery.

• Platform experience: Experience supporting SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, vendor-built applications, cloud migrations, and hybrid enterprise environments.

• Certifications: GCP, Terraform, Ansible, ITIL, or other relevant cloud and infrastructure certifications are desirable.

• Continuous improvement: Ability to use AI capabilities where they deliver business value and improve support, operations, and user productivity.

• Leadership behaviors: Demonstrates ownership, initiative, integrity, constructive challenge, collaboration, and an engaging leadership style; develops people and drives initiatives from idea through execution.

SUPPORT REQUIREMENT

• The role requires extended off-hours coverage, including overnight, weekend, and holiday on-call support on a weekly rotational basis, aligned to US business-hours support needs and the team’s operational support model.
