About this role

Description

Who is Gather Health?

Gather Health is a collective of outreach partners, care partners, clinicians and, most importantly, patient partners who work together to reshape lives and communities. We bring hands-on social and medical care to our patients and work around their needs, both within our care facilities and in their homes. We work alongside local leaders to build communities and provide tailored care experiences that serve the seniors that live within them. When we Gather, we show love, compassion, community, and care.

What is the “Market Growth Director” job about?

The Market Growth Director will lead patient growth strategy and execution across their assigned market, overseeing two teams: Outreach Partners (OPs) and Patient Experience Partners (PEPs). OPs build relationships with key stakeholders and organizations in their community territories and educate prospective patients about Gather Health’s social primary care model through community events, local partnerships, and phone and in-person “connects,” all with the goal of enrollment. PEPs manage inbound leads, convert interested prospects into enrolled patients, and conduct patient experience calls to ensure every patient feels supported.

The Market Growth Director will own the market’s growth strategy, budget, and enrollment targets, and conversion performance across the full funnel. They will build and lead a high-performing team, from hiring to development, and establish strategic partnerships with health plans, community organizations, and other referral sources. Serving as the market’s growth leader, they will report performance and insights to executive leadership and partner with clinic operations to ensure a seamless patient experience from first touch to first visit. This is a strategic leadership role focused on building systems and leaders rather than individual outreach.

The success of this role directly expands patients’ access to the care they deserve high-quality, compassionate medical care alongside the social and community resources that improve their quality of life.

What are some of the day-to-day duties?

- Lead the market’s OP and PEP teams, setting strategic direction, priorities, and performance expectations
- Develop and own the market’s growth strategy across lead generation, inbound conversion, community events, and partnership development
- Own hiring decisions and build a high-performing team, from workforce planning and interviews through onboarding
- Build scalable training and development programs that grow future leaders and drive long-term team success
- Serve as the market’s growth leader, reporting performance, insights, and recommendations to the Senior Vice President of Growth & Marketing and executive leadership
- Partner with Talent Acquisition, Finance, Clinic Operations, and senior leadership to align growth plans with market capacity and budget
- Establish and lead strategic partnerships with health plans, political and civic leaders, community-based organizations, and programs serving the senior population
- Own market growth results, including enrollment targets, conversion rates, using CRM data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement

So, is this considered a “sales” role?

This is a performance-based role: your compensation is tied to the growth results your market delivers, including patient enrollment across your OP and PEP teams. In that sense, you are leading a sales organization. But growth at Gather Health looks very different from traditional sales.

Our teams don’t persuade people to buy products they don’t need or can’t afford. They introduce vulnerable seniors to a care model designed to produce significantly better clinical outcomes and lower total medical costs over time. We focus on quality over quantity and address the non-clinical factors that affect seniors’ health, such as depression, isolation, loneliness, and lack of community support.

As Market Growth Director, you’ll build and lead teams that share this belief, creating a growth culture rooted in mission rather than pressure. When leaders and teams truly believe in what they offer, the results follow, and so does a deeply fulfilling career.

How is the pay structured?

The position offers a competitive base salary, plus commissions based on the number of patients you and your team enroll/recruit.
