About this role
Charlotte Latin School is seeking a Middle School Girls Head Soccer Coach to begin February 2027. The main duties and responsibilities include:
- Conduct tryouts
- Make decisions about player positions and playing time
- Run drills, practices, and manage player feedback
- Coach games (both home and away)
- Manage uniform and team equipment
- Manage parent and athlete communication
- Assist Program Head with Girls Middle School program development
- Ensure safety and well being of all student-athletes
Qualifications
Experience
- Experience as a coach on a school team or club team, and/or college/competitive high school soccer player experience
Skills and Availability
- A positive, upbeat coaching style
- Exhibit a love of working with children in this age group
- Exhibit a commitment to wellness and working with the whole child
- Willing and able to resolve conflicts with colleagues, parents and between students
- The ability to build a strong rapport with colleagues and serve as a collaborative team player
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- After school, availability starting at 3:30 PM for practices and games
Working Conditions and Environment
- Intermittently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds.
- Continuously see, sit, balance, grasp, and have repetitive use of arms, wrists, hands, and fingers.
- Intermittently stand, stoop, bend, twist, crouch, kneel, crawl, walk, climb stairs, step stools and ladders, operate foot and hand controls, squeeze, and reach above shoulders.
- Exposure to dust, chemicals, fumes, flammables, grease, dirt, stacked materials, electrical equipment, machinery, low to medium noise levels, and moderate indoor heat and cold temperatures.
- Ability to work long or odd hours, as needed.
