Job Description

AltaGas - Manager, Agile Delivery and Transformation

AltaGas is seeking an experienced Agile Coach to develop, refine, and help embed a consistent Agile delivery practice within Delivery Enablement and Excellence (Digital PMO). This hands-on role will shape the Agile methodology, rollout, and adoption needed to create a practical and sustainable practice. The successful candidate will work with delivery teams, leaders, and business stakeholders to pilot, improve, train, and scale the practice across the organization.

The role is accountable for leading the development and refinement of AltaGas’ Agile delivery practice; enabling consistent adoption through practical guidance, training, coaching, and reusable delivery assets. Its emphasis is to define and refine a fit-for-purpose methodology, standards, ceremonies, templates, and learning materials to build the internal capability needed to sustain a consistent Agile practice over time.

You will :

- Define, refine, and maintain the Agile framework, methodology, playbook, templates, ceremonies, standards, and success measures needed to support a sustainable Agile delivery practice.
- Develop the Agile training rollout roadmap, including audience segmentation, adoption waves, team-readiness criteria, and maturity expectations.
- Establish minimum standards, guardrails, approved templates, examples, and FAQs while allowing teams to tailor practices based on delivery context, risk, regulatory needs, and project complexity.
- Use practitioner feedback, delivery outcomes, project health trends, training insights, and partner input to maintain a prioritized continuous-improvement backlog for the Agile framework and playbook.
- Provide hands-on coaching to delivery teams on Agile roles, responsibilities, ceremonies, backlog practices, and ways of working.
- Assess team practices and delivery routines to identify capability gaps, and create targeted coaching plans with clear development outcomes and measures of success.
- Support teams by interpreting the Agile framework, reinforcing clarity, and identifying common adoption barriers that should inform future training, playbook, or framework updates.
- Provide functional leadership, direction, mentoring, and quality oversight to Agile Coaches and/or Scrum Masters, aligning coaching priorities and team support to the Agile framework, adoption roadmap, to promote consistent, high-quality practices.
- Define and deliver role-based training for practitioners, project teams, and business stakeholders to support consistent adoption of the Agile framework and playbook.
- Develop reusable training and enablement assets, including facilitator guides, quick-reference tools, onboarding materials, and self-service content aligned to the Agile playbook.
- Deliver onboarding and refresher sessions that help practitioners understand and apply the Agile framework, playbook, templates, and ceremonies consistently.
- Help teams apply Agile delivery practices while meeting AltaGas financial controls, risk management, testing, change management, and transition-to-operations requirements.
- Assess the effectiveness and usability of Agile practices, templates, and governance touchpoints, then recommend pragmatic improvements.
- Facilitate retrospectives, lessons-learned sessions, health checks, value-stream discussions, and improvement workshops.
- Define and maintain Agile adoption and delivery measures, such as flow, cycle time, throughput, predictability, quality, and delivery confidence, and integrate meaningful insights into portfolio and leadership reporting.
- Act as a visible, approachable point of contact for Agile guidance within Delivery Enablement.

You have:

- 8+ years of experience in Agile, product, project, program, or digital delivery environments, including substantial experience coaching teams and leaders.
- Agile, Scrum, or coaching credentials such as CSM, PSM, CSP, CTC, CEC, PMI-ACP, SAFe, ICAgile, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience embedding and expanding Agile practices across multiple teams using readiness criteria, adoption measures, and maturity-based coaching.
- Experience establishing, leading, or materially contributing to an Agile delivery practice, project management capability, or transformation function.
- Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, or providing functional direction to Agile Coaches, Scrum Masters, or comparable delivery practitioners across multiple teams.
- Ability to connect Agile ways of working with project governance, portfolio management, financial controls, risk, quality, testing, change management, and operational readiness.
- Proven ability to create clear, practical playbooks, standards, templates, curricula, and self-service learning materials.
- Excellent facilitation, coaching, mentoring, presentation, stakeholder-engagement, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a matrixed enterprise environment and influence across multiple levels and functions.
- Experience in energy, utilities, or regulated environments.
- Experience working within Delivery Enablement or an enterprise technology organization.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, OnePlan, or comparable portfolio and delivery tools.
