Production Supervisor, Aerospace - 2nd Shift

PPG's Aerospace Business is looking for a Production Supervisor to join our team in Sylmar, CA. As a 2nd shift Production Supervisor you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the day-to-day activities in production and supervising the staff involved in manufacturing the product. You will be responsible for assuring that the department staff has the tools and resources needed to perform the functions of daily production.

This is an onsite position in our Sylmar, CA plant and reporting to the Production Manager.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintains a safe operating environment
- Follows direction of production and functional Managers to meet daily production schedules and reports status
- Works as a team with functional area supervisors and managers to accomplish objectives and meet customer requirements of quality, delivery, cost, and inventory performance expectations
- Supports and communicates information timely between company and employees
- Responsible for 5S initiatives sustainment by identifying and eliminating waste in all phases of the production processes
- Trains, cross-trains and maintains proficiency records of employees. Identifies high performers for the organization
- Reviews, counsels, evaluates, and disciplines employees as necessary
- Recommends proper staffing levels based on production needs
- Monitors and controls cost of manufacturing, including material usage and overtime
- Supervises accurate and timely reporting of WIP movement
- Provides production assistance to support groups

Qualifications

- Only U.S. Citizens, Green Card holders, and political asylees or refugees are eligible to apply.
- HS Diploma or GED with 5+ years of manufacturing supervisory experience OR Bachelor's Degree with 2+ years of manufacturing supervisory experience.
- Prior experience in aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing and/or maintenance environment.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.

The base salary range for this position is $85,000 to $105,000, with a possibility of an annual bonus up to 7% of base salary.
