About this role
Amsterdam · Full-time · On-site
Team: Deployments
Location: Amsterdam (workshop base), on the road across the Netherlands
Workplace: Workshop, vehicle, construction sites
Schedule: Early starts to match site hours; some days end late when a move runs long
Experience: Professional driving and load securing; no robotics or construction background needed
Language: English required; Dutch is a plus
About the role
You’ll transport robots that build houses. You’ll load them at our Amsterdam workshop, get them onto construction sites, and bring them back for repairs before their next job. When a team needs a replacement robot to keep building, you’re the person who gets it there.
We’re hiring our first Robot Transporter. We already have 150+ robots in the field and we’re expanding from the Netherlands into the UK and US. You’ll be the first person dedicated to getting our robots, equipment and materials where they need to be, helping more teams build more homes.
Your day could take you from the workshop to several active construction sites, delivering robots, collecting systems for repair and getting equipment to the next crew. You’ll work out the order of stops, what fits in each vehicle, and how to load and secure it safely. You’ll drive a C1 truck or B-licence van, work closely with our deployment team, and get to know the robots and the people building with them.
This is practical, physical work with room to take charge. You’ll start by planning alongside the deployment team, then take ownership of routes and transport requests as you learn the sites and loads. Plans change, sites get muddy, and teams depend on you. You’ll see the houses going up and know you helped get them built.
What you'll do
Drive. Operate our leased C1 truck and B-licence van across the Netherlands, usually two or more movements a day. When a move needs a flatbed with forklift loading, you arrange it.
Plan the day’s transport. Work with the deployment team on the day’s plan: what goes in which vehicle, and the order of drop-offs and pick-ups across sites, our Groningen hub and our Amsterdam locations. Over time, more of this becomes yours to own.
Load and secure. Robots, hoisting cages, scaffolding, inventory kits, equipment. You know weight limits, lashing and what it takes to get a 400+ kg system in and out of a vehicle safely.
Run deployment logistics. Systems, kits and operational tools out to a new site before the team arrives, back to the workshop when a build wraps, and everything in between.
Keep the fleet where it's useful. Move idle systems from one site to another that needs them, and bring systems back for repair so that a broken robot swapped today is a wall going up tomorrow.
Own the vehicles. Servicing, inspections, cleaning, fuel, damage reporting and fines. Vehicles are always road-ready.
Log every move. Each transport is recorded in our fleet tooling so deployment managers see when their request is planned and the company always knows where every system and kit is.
Improve the process. Feed what you see on the road back to the inventory team (packing standards), deployment team (equipment ratios per site) and the team building our transport tooling.
Help with inventory in downtime. When there's nothing to move, you work with the inventory team to prepare kits, organise stock and check returned equipment back in.
What we're looking for
A valid C1 licence with Code 95 (required). A full C licence with Code 95 is also fine.
Professional driving and load securing experience (required). Vans or trucks, with real responsibility for what was in the back: lashing, weight distribution, awkward loads. Equipment rental, construction logistics, removals or last-mile delivery are all good backgrounds.
Comfortable with physical work. Loading heavy systems with the right equipment, early starts, all weather, construction site conditions. You don’t need a robotics or construction background, but you should want to know how the systems you’re moving work.
Organised in chaos. You can hold a day with five drop-offs in your head, re-sequence it when a site calls, and still log everything at the end.
Reliable and careful. A damaged robot costs a build day. You check straps twice and say no to an overloaded vehicle.
Clear communication. You deal with deployment managers, site crews and the workshop every day, in person and on Slack. You raise problems early.
Based in the Netherlands. Able to work from Amsterdam and drive to sites nationwide. We can't support relocation or visa sponsorship for this role.
English required; Dutch is a plus.
