About this role

Who We Are

Boston Consulting Group partners with leaders in business and society to tackle their most important challenges and capture their greatest opportunities. BCG was the pioneer in business strategy when it was founded in 1963. Today, we help clients with total transformation-inspiring complex change, enabling organizations to grow, building competitive advantage, and driving bottom-line impact.

To succeed, organizations must blend digital and human capabilities. Our diverse, global teams bring deep industry and functional expertise and a range of perspectives to spark change. BCG delivers solutions through leading-edge management consulting along with technology and design, corporate and digital ventures—and business purpose. We work in a uniquely collaborative model across the firm and throughout all levels of the client organization, generating results that allow our clients to thrive.

Enterprise Services (ES) was established in 2022 to provide efficient, resilient, and scalable services to support the evolving needs and complexities of a more digital BCG. ES brings together business-critical operations - such as Procurement & Payables, Global Finance Operations, and Executive Support Services - alongside specialist expertise including Real Estate, Travel, and Meetings & Events. United by a common service mindset, ES enables every BCGer to focus on the work that matters most by giving time and energy back through streamlined, reliable service delivery. In doing so, ES creates cost advantage and strengthens BCG’s market differentiation, while reducing risk through consistent controls and business continuity. Through scalable platforms and globally integrated ways of working across our strategic core global hubs, Enterprise Services enhances agility and helps unlock the potential of those who advance the world.

Within Meetings & Events (M&E), BCG's rapid growth and transformation have driven the team to evolve in response to an increasingly complex global events portfolio. This includes strengthening operational infrastructure, expanding contingent workforce capabilities, and integrating technology and innovation into the planning and delivery of events worldwide. The team embraces an entrepreneurial, data-driven, and customer-centric approach, continuously challenging existing practices and identifying opportunities for improvement while fostering an inclusive culture built on collaboration, continuous learning, and adaptability.

Within Meetings & Events (M&E), BCG's rapid growth and transformation has driven the team to evolve to meet the demands of an increasingly complex global event portfolio — building more rigorous operational infrastructure, scaling contingent workforce capabilities, and embedding technology and innovation into how we plan and deliver events worldwide. The team approaches this work with an entrepreneurial, data-driven, and customer-centric mindset, always questioning the status quo and proactively seeking opportunities for improvement, while reinforcing an inclusive culture grounded in collaboration, continuous learning, and adaptability.

The Meeting Services Director leads BCG’s integrated event services portfolio spanning registration, digital event platforms, and housing/accommodation management as the leader of the Digital, Housing & Delegate Management (DHD) capability and team. This global service underpins more than 180 events annually, including BCG’s most complex and high-profile meetings such as WWOM and global/regional Practice Area and affiliation events

At this level, the Director is accountable for shaping strategy, scaling innovation, and ensuring seamless, brand-aligned participant experiences across in-person, hybrid, and virtual formats. The role builds BCG’s digital backbone for event services — embedding data-driven insights, AI/digital tools, and cross-functional governance — to future-proof how BCG designs and delivers events globally. The Director ensures the DHD team evolves from being a transactional service provider to a strategic design partner – crafting holistic, digital-first attendee experiences that reflect BCG’s brand and values.

The Director provides enterprise-level thought leadership, influences senior stakeholders, and ensures the DHD team and service offering evolves in line with firmwide priorities on digital enablement, sustainability, and operational resilience.

Strategic Leadership & Service Vision

- Define and evolve the strategy for BCG’s DHD service, aligning with firmwide priorities in digital, AI, and customer experience.
- Shape the service portfolio across registration, digital platforms, and housing, ensuring scalability, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement.
- Champion a shift toward digital event design, ensuring platforms and registration touchpoints are curated to deliver inspiring, inclusive, and seamless end-to-end participant journeys.
- As category manager for the DHD service, ensure we have the right mix of suppliers to meet business needs, and service delivery is at the level expected.
- Partner with IT, Procurement, Marketing, Recruiting and other functions to integrate DHD into BCG’s enterprise digital and event strategies.
- Represent the DHD Service on the Extended M&E Leadership team.

Operational Excellence & Risk Management

- Oversee delivery of highly complex, multi-region event services — e.g., WWOM with 60+ registration pathways, 30+ concurrent events, and 20 hotel blocks across continents.
- Establish global standards and playbooks for quality assurance, GDPR compliance, and supplier accountability.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks across data, legal, and vendor domains to safeguard BCG’s brand and financial interests.

Innovation & Digital Transformation

- Champion adoption of new tools (e.g., Cvent, Orbit, AI-enabled platforms) to streamline workflows, enhance data capture, and improve stakeholder experiences.
- Elevate the team from platform builders to digital event designers – bringing creativity, data insights, and design thinking to the way attendees engage before, during, and after events.
- Collaborate with event owners and senior stakeholders to co-design digital engagement strategies that extend impact beyond logistics into lasting community, learning, and affiliation.
- Lead service digitization efforts, embedding automation and analytics to drive cost efficiency, improved attendee experience, participant insights, and operational resilience.
- Bring external industry benchmarks and innovations into BCG, positioning the DHD function as a thought leader in digital events.

People Development & Leadership

- Lead a global team of ~11 FTEs (CS2–MSD2) and contingent staff of ~7.
- Build an inclusive, high-performance culture that balances empowerment with accountability; mentor, coach, and stretch team members to grow capability and retention.
- Inspire the DHD team to act as digital experience architects – equipping them with the skills, tools, and mindset to advise stakeholders.

Stakeholder Engagement & Influence

- Serve as the senior point of contact for executive stakeholders, translating complex technical and operational issues into clear recommendations and trade-offs.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, influencing budget, scope, and digital priorities for flagship events.
- Lead cross-functional steering groups, ensuring DHD services evolve to meet enterprise and client-facing needs.

What You'll Bring

- 10+ years of experience in consulting, program or digital operations management, preferably in a global professional services or enterprise context.
- Demonstrated leadership of large-scale, complex event service portfolios with measurable impact (financial, customer, operational).
- Proven success in managing large, global teams.
- Expertise in digital platforms (e.g., Cvent, mobile apps, AI tools) and strong understanding of compliance, risk, and data governance in events.
- Strong change management experience, with ability to integrate teams and processes across functions.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; able to simplify complex information for senior leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or JD preferred.
- Willingness to travel 10–20%.
- Strong service mindset and collaborative style.
- Analytical thinker with strong judgment, pragmatism, and problem-solving skills.

Who You'll Work With

The Director partners across BCG’s Global M&E team, IT, as well as senior stakeholders across  Practice Areas and Executive functions. Externally, the role manages strategic supplier relationships, ensuring BCG secures the best value, service, and innovation in the industry.
