Job Description:
Product Owner
Gun StoreMaster
THE COMPANY
Gun StoreMaster, developed by Three Circle Software, LLC, provides cloud-based ATF compliance and firearm inventory management software for Federal Firearms Licensees (FFLs). Our platform helps firearm retailers, manufacturers, gunsmiths, and other FFLs simplify complex regulatory workflows, including electronic acquisition and disposition records, Form 4473 processing, reporting, inventory management, transfers, and related compliance tasks. Our goal is simple: make compliance accurate, secure, and easy to use so customers can spend less time on administrative work and more time running their businesses. Gun StoreMaster is developed in Austin, Texas, and operates within an organization committed to security, availability, processing integrity, and confidentiality.
POSITION
We are seeking an experienced Product Owner who already uses AI as a core part of the product development workflow. You will help drive the vision, priorities, and execution of Gun StoreMaster while working directly with customers, internal stakeholders, and development teams. This is not an AI product management role in name only. We want someone who can demonstrate how they have used AI to turn large amounts of customer and business information into better product decisions, clearer specifications, and faster delivery.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Define and communicate a clear product vision, roadmap, and priorities for Gun StoreMaster based on customer needs, business objectives, regulatory requirements, and technical opportunities.
- Use AI tools to aggregate and synthesize customer feedback from interviews, support tickets, sales conversations, surveys, product usage, and other sources, identifying recurring themes, pain points, and opportunities that might otherwise be missed.
- Build repeatable AI-assisted prioritization workflows that combine qualitative customer feedback with usage data, business impact, regulatory obligations, technical effort, and strategic value.
- Turn product discovery into clear product requirements, specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, workflows, edge cases, and supporting documentation, using AI to accelerate drafting, challenge assumptions, and improve completeness.
- Use AI to accelerate market and competitive research, analyze emerging product trends, and investigate regulatory or industry changes, while validating important conclusions with authoritative sources and subject matter experts.
- Partner closely with engineering, design, QA, support, sales, and other stakeholders throughout the Agile development lifecycle, maintaining a well-prioritized backlog and ensuring the team understands the customer problem and intended outcome.
- Use AI-assisted prototyping, wireframing, data analysis, or other rapid discovery techniques to test ideas earlier and reduce the cost of learning before committing significant engineering effort.
- Validate delivered features against customer needs, usability expectations, security requirements, and applicable compliance requirements, ensuring AI-generated analysis or documentation is reviewed rather than accepted blindly.
- Create durable product knowledge by documenting customer insights, product decisions, assumptions, requirements, and reusable AI workflows so the organization can make faster and more consistent decisions over time.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar product role within a software or SaaS organization.
- Demonstrable, hands-on experience using generative AI and large language model tools as part of day-to-day product work. You should be able to explain specific examples of how AI changed or improved your workflow.
- Experience using AI to synthesize customer feedback, identify themes, support prioritization, generate or refine PRDs and product specifications, create user stories and acceptance criteria, and accelerate research or discovery.
- Strong product judgment and critical thinking, including the ability to validate AI-generated output, detect weak assumptions or hallucinations, protect sensitive information, and separate useful signal from plausible-sounding noise.
- Proven ability to work with Agile development teams and translate customer and business problems into clear, actionable requirements without over-prescribing the technical solution.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex workflows, tradeoffs, compliance considerations, and product decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with regulated software, compliance-heavy workflows, firearm retail, FFL operations, or ATF requirements is a strong plus, but practical product ownership and the ability to learn the domain quickly are more important.
