What this job involves:

As an HVAC Maintenance Technician at JLL, you'll be essential to keeping our clients' facilities operating at peak performance. In this hands-on role, you'll maintain, troubleshoot, and repair critical building systems—from HVAC/R equipment and electrical distribution to plumbing and building infrastructure. Your technical expertise will directly impact the comfort and productivity of building occupants while ensuring compliance with EPA and state regulations. At JLL, we are collectively shaping a brighter way — for our clients, ourselves and our fellow employees, and your contribution will be at the heart of that mission. You'll work both independently and as part of a collaborative facilities team, responding to service requests, conducting preventive maintenance, and serving in an on-call capacity to address urgent needs. This position offers the opportunity to expand your technical knowledge across multiple building systems while working in diverse facility environments.

What your day-to-day will look like:

- Perform preventive maintenance and respond to repair work orders on mechanical, electrical, HVAC/R, and plumbing systems across assigned facilities
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot HVAC/R systems, chillers, boilers, air handlers, and associated controls to ensure optimal building performance
- Conduct routine facility inspections and due diligence assessments, documenting conditions that impact client operations and occupant comfort
- Manage refrigerants in full compliance with EPA and state regulations, maintaining accurate usage logs and inventory records for all controlled substances
- Complete required documentation including work orders, permits, safety checklists, and inspection reports with attention to detail and timeliness
- Serve on an on-call rotation to provide emergency response coverage for critical system failures and urgent repair needs
- Collaborate with facility management and fellow technicians to prioritize tasks, share knowledge, and deliver seamless service to clients

Required qualifications:

- High school diploma or state equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience working with commercial mechanical systems
- Valid EPA Universal Refrigeration Certification
- Current state HVAC Journeyman license
- Strong oral and written communication skills with ability to prepare clear technical reports
- Working knowledge of OSHA safety standards and applicable local building codes
- Proficiency with computer systems including Microsoft Office and Outlook for documentation and communication
- Physical ability to operate power tools, work from ladders, lift heavy loads, and access confined spaces such as mechanical rooms, crawl spaces, and attics

Preferred qualifications:

- Completion of 2 years of trade school education or equivalent technical training in HVAC, building systems, or related field
- Experience with building automation systems (BAS) and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
- Additional trade certifications in electrical, plumbing, or building operations
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Experience working in corporate, commercial, or institutional facility environments
- Demonstrated track record of strong customer service and client relationship management
