Responsibilities:
• Develop a comprehensive knowledge of the audiovisual equipment checkout program, including the functionality and proper use of available equipment.
• Oversee evening checkout operations by pulling equipment for reservations and generating checkout documentation.
• Inspect returned equipment to verify that all items and accessories are accounted for, reporting any missing or damaged items to the Studio Coordinator.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain the media studios to keep equipment and spaces functional and ready for patrons.
• Achieve a foundational proficiency in all the major tools/resources in the Makerspace.
• Review and grade Canvas Pathways skills modules to authorize patron access to Makerspace equipment.
• Supervise undergraduate student worker operations, including end-of-shift documentation and accountability for assigned shifts, helping support areas experiencing high demand.
• Act as the primary point of contact for student workers seeking assistance with operational questions or unexpected situations. Exercise sound judgment in resolving routine issues and determining when to involve professional staff.
• Supervise closing procedures for the Makerspace & Studios.

Preferred skills:
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Curiosity and an eagerness to learn.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and take initiative.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others.
• Previous experience in maker activities (e.g., 3d printing, laser cutting, sewing, embroidery, etc.) or audiovisual equipment (e.g., cameras, microphones, gimbals, lighting, etc.) is a plus, but not required.
