Sunstates Security is hosting a Hiring Event for Security Officers on Tuesday October, 27th 10:00AM-3:00PM

Meet with Hiring Managers to explore Full-Time, Part-Time, and Flex positions on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts in the Torrance, CA area.

We may begin onboarding at the hiring event, be prepared to present the following.:

- Valid I-9 Documents (ID/SSC, birth certificate, passport, permanent resident card, etc.)
- Active CA Guard Card
- 40-hour trainings certification(s)
- Prepared to pass 10 panel drug screen

We are hiring for the following:

- Mobile Full-Time Supervisor $24.50/hr - will travel between sites within the Torrance area
- Full Time/Part Time security officers - $20.50
- Flex security officer position $23.00/hr
* Flex MUST have open availability to cover all different shifts

Job Requirements

General Requirements:

- CA Guard Card/ 40-hour Certificate
- Minimum two years security officer experience.
- Experience with two-way radio communications.
- Able to regularly position at a standing post and perform foot patrols for extended periods of time and distance.
- Can clearly and concisely understand and communicate information and ideas in written form.
- Exceptional report writing skills and the ability to observe and report incidents accurately.
- Experienced with Microsoft office applications experience.
- Must have experience with Microsoft Suite applications.

Flex officer breakdown:

The Flex Officer position is crucial to our company’s operational and financial success. The flex officer provides trained, competent support by working shifts which become open due to illness, call-offs, weather, vacation, or other causes. This enables Sunstates to provide continual, uninterrupted service to our customers, while also protecting the health and work balance of our personnel.

- You will be trained at various posts and /or facilities based on operational need. While you may work at a specific post or location for several weeks due to need, this will not be a permanent assignment.
- Your schedule (shifts, days off, hours per week, etc.) will vary based on operational need.
- You will be assigned to, or offered the opportunity to accept, shifts as they become available due to staffing needs.
- Some of your shifts will be scheduled in advance and posted with the new week’s schedule. Sometimes you will be called with short notice and asked to come in to cover for someone who is unable to work their shift.
- You are expected to work any shift for which you are scheduled in advance which falls within the availability described on this sheet. If you know you will be unavailable on an upcoming date or time that would normally fall within your availability described on this sheet, you must communicate this with your supervisor, so they know not to schedule you.

For short-notice call-ins, the flex officer is expected to work at least 80% of the shifts for which you are called. If you refuse more than 20% of shifts for which you are called in, this could negatively impact your employment status with the company.

A Security Officer may perform a multitude of duties as specified by the Post Orders and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The Security Officer will read and become extremely knowledgeable of Post Orders and SOP and will be able to act quickly and efficiently according to such directives.
