Job Description:
Baker Tilly is seeking a Head of Design — Agentic Experience to lead the design of AI-powered products that enable professionals to collaborate confidently and effectively with AI agents. This role will shape intuitive, trustworthy experiences that make AI reasoning, confidence, evidence, and human oversight transparent and actionable. As a founding design leader within the AI Product Management & Design organization, this individual will work hands-on alongside product managers, engineers, and subject matter experts to translate complex AI capabilities into practical, high-quality solutions that support professional judgment and accountability.
This is a highly collaborative, hands-on leadership opportunity responsible for establishing the firm's agentic design principles, developing scalable interaction patterns, and building the foundation for a consistent design experience across AI products. The ideal candidate combines exceptional product design expertise, deep understanding of human–AI interaction, strong technical fluency, and the ability to lead through influence while delivering innovative solutions in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead Agentic Product Design: Own the end-to-end design of AI-powered product experiences, from initial concepts and working prototypes through production launch and continuous improvement, beginning with BT Compass.
- Establish Design Strategy and Standards: Define and implement interaction principles and design standards for AI reasoning, confidence indicators, evidence transparency, provenance, escalation, and human-in-the-loop decision-making.
- Drive Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with product management, engineering, architecture, and subject matter experts to align product requirements, user experiences, technical capabilities, and acceptance criteria.
- Conduct User Research and Validation: Engage directly with firm practitioners to understand workflows, evaluate how professionals review and interact with AI agents, and translate research findings into actionable design improvements.
- Build Scalable Design Foundations: Develop and maintain lightweight design systems, reusable components, and consistent interaction patterns that support a growing portfolio of AI-enabled products.
- Enable Continuous Learning and Improvement: Design intuitive feedback and correction mechanisms that allow practitioners to review, refine, and improve AI-generated outputs while supporting the firm's broader AI learning and evaluation processes.
- Prototype and Innovate: Leverage modern design technologies, including AI-assisted and agentic tools, to rapidly develop, test, and refine high-fidelity prototypes within real-world technical and business constraints.
- Provide Design Leadership: Establish quality standards, influence design direction across product teams, and help build the design function as the organization expands, including providing direction and mentorship to future design team members.
- Support Strategic Initiatives: Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned to advance the firm's AI product strategy and business priorities.

- Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design capabilities, particularly in AI trust, transparency, evidence presentation, human oversight, and user experience quality.
- Proven expertise in human–AI interaction design, including AI reasoning, confidence indicators, provenance, review-and-approval workflows, escalation, and failure states.
- Experience working collaboratively with engineers, product managers, and subject matter experts to design and deliver products within cross-functional development teams.
- Demonstrated success designing intuitive solutions for expert users operating in complex, highly accountable, or professionally regulated environments.
- Experience establishing scalable design standards, reusable interaction patterns, and lightweight design systems across multiple products.
- Strong proficiency in modern product design and working-fidelity prototyping tools, including AI-assisted and agentic technologies.
- Experience conducting user research, usability testing, and iterative design validation, with the ability to translate findings into product requirements, acceptance criteria, and measurable improvements.
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to translate complex AI capabilities, model behaviors, and platform constraints into practical, intuitive user experiences.
