About this role
Help keep advanced imaging services ready for every patient, every procedure, and every clinical team. This essential operations position ensures that CT, MRI, and Ultrasound teams have the supplies and equipment they need to deliver timely, high-quality care .
As a Supply Specialist with UVA Health Radiology, you will take ownership of inventory organization, ordering, receiving, stocking, and supply problem-solving across multiple busy imaging areas. This role is ideal for an experienced, dependable professional who enjoys hands-on work, operates with initiative, and understands how reliable supply operations support clinicians and patients.
The Role
Working with a high degree of day-to-day independence, you will manage supply needs across CT, MRI, and Ultrasound while building productive relationships with technologists, supervisors, vendors, the storeroom, and Procurement. You will balance routine inventory responsibilities with the unexpected needs that arise in a fast-moving clinical environment.
Your average day may include:
- Maintaining organized, well-stocked cabinets, storerooms, and inventory areas.
- Ordering, receiving, storing, and distributing supplies used in diagnostic imaging and ultrasound-guided procedures.
- Monitoring stock levels and helping adjust PAR levels to reduce shortages, excess inventory, and disruptions.
- Tracking requisitions and resolving supply or delivery issues before they affect clinical operations.
- Coordinating with Procurement, vendors, and internal partners to ensure materials are available when needed.
- Supporting multiple imaging teams and responding to changing priorities throughout the day.
- Identifying opportunities to improve inventory organization, supply workflows, and operational efficiency.
- Performing active, hands-on work that includes standing, moving throughout clinical areas, handling boxes, organizing materials, and stocking supplies.
Success in this position requires more than completing a prescribed checklist. You will be trusted to recognize what needs attention, take action, and follow issues through to resolution. Dependability and attention to detail are especially important because supplies must be ordered, received, and stocked on time to support patient care.
The strongest candidates will bring experience in procurement, inventory management, supply operations, or healthcare support. Experience ordering, stocking, receiving, organizing, or managing clinical supplies will translate well to this opportunity. Previous UVA procurement or operational experience is especially valuable.
