About this role
1. Warehouse Equipment Solution Design – Primary Focus (Approx. 60%) • Design and develop storage solutions including selective pallet racking, drive-in / drive-through racking, pallet shuttle racking, mobile racking, cantilever racking, shelving, multi-tier shelving and mezzanine solutions. • Prepare warehouse layouts, storage capacity calculations, equipment configurations and space-utilization studies considering pallet data, material flow, handling equipment, safety clearances and customer operations. • Prepare technical specifications, bills of material, load data and design inputs; coordinate structural, seismic and statutory requirements with internal teams, suppliers and engineering partners. • Review supplier drawings, calculations and offers for technical compliance, scope completeness and cost competitiveness. 2. Automation Solution Development (Approx. 40%) • Support concept development for ASRS, pallet and miniload systems, automated shuttle systems, conveyors, AMR / AGV solutions and integrated material-handling systems. • Perform basic storage, throughput, equipment-sizing and material-flow calculations and define system interfaces at concept stage. • Coordinate with automation suppliers, controls / software teams and regional or global experts to develop complete and viable solutions. 3. Sales and Presales Support • Work closely with the sales team throughout the opportunity cycle, from lead qualification and requirement gathering to solution presentation, technical clarification and order handover. • Participate in customer meetings, site surveys, solution workshops, technical presentations, tender discussions and negotiations. • Translate customer operational requirements into optimized concepts and clearly communicate solution benefits, assumptions, exclusions and value proposition. • Support business-development activities, exhibitions, consultant interactions and customer visits as required. 4. Costing, Proposal and Documentation • Prepare concept layouts, BOQ / BOM, cost estimates, technical descriptions, compliance statements and techno-commercial proposal inputs. • Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations and coordinate with purchasing, sales and other stakeholders for competitive pricing and timely proposal submission. • Maintain proposal accuracy, revision control and documentation of design assumptions, scope boundaries and technical risks. 5. Project Handover, Installation and Site Support • Ensure structured handover of awarded projects to project execution, including approved layouts, design basis, scope, BOM, specifications, assumptions, interfaces and open points. • Conduct pre-installation site assessments and verify site conditions, access, floor / building readiness, interfaces and installation prerequisites. • Provide on-site technical support during installation, resolve design-related queries, verify layout and equipment positioning, and coordinate with customers, contractors, suppliers and internal teams. • Participate in design reviews, inspections, commissioning, snag resolution, acceptance and preparation / review of as-built documentation where required. • Ensure that the installed solution is consistent with the approved design intent, safety requirements and contractual scope. 6. Cross-functional Coordination • Collaborate with Sales, Project Management, Procurement, Service, Finance, EHS, suppliers and regional / global engineering teams. • Proactively identify technical and commercial risks and escalate deviations that may affect cost, timeline, performance, quality or safety.
