About this role
Description
AWS is building one of the largest energy portfolios in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa — and we need someone who can connect the dots across a complex, multi-country programme. As a Grid Analyst, you will drive programme visibility and business analytics for the energy infrastructure that powers AWS data centres across EMEA.
This is not a desk-bound reporting role. You will own the programme rhythm — aggregating data from multiple workstreams, building dashboards that surface risks early, and ensuring leadership has a clear, single view of cost, schedule, and capacity across the portfolio. You will work at the intersection of programme management and analytics, turning fragmented project data into decisions.
Day to day, you will:
- Build and maintain portfolio-level reporting that tracks grid connection milestones, utility timelines, and energisation schedules across EMEA markets
- Design automated dashboards and KPI frameworks using tools like Smartsheet and QuickSight
- Drive programme cadence
- Partner with legal, finance, and capacity delivery teams to align cost and schedule across workstreams
- Identify process gaps and implement improvements that reduce manual effort and increase reporting accuracy
- Provide analytical context on grid connection timelines and regulatory requirements to support decision-making
This role suits someone with strong programme management and business analytics skills who wants to apply them in the fast-moving energy infrastructure space. Prior power or utility experience is a plus but not required — what matters is your ability to structure ambiguity, build clarity from data, and keep complex programmes on track.
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.
You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.
there’s nothing we can’t achieve in the cloud.
Key job responsibilities
- Support and collaborate with cross-functional teams (Legal, Finance Capacity Delivery) on the day-to-day programme management and reporting across the portfolio of infrastructure power delivery projects
- Enable effective decision making by managing and aggregating datasets and key performance indicators from multiple sources to provide a single source of truth on status, cost, capacity and key dates management across a portfolio of infrastructure power delivery projects
- Develop and oversee the implementation of continual process improvement initiatives related to operational efficiency, team effectiveness and new value-add activities
- Facilitate internal and external meetings by managing agendas, facilitating scheduling, owning meeting minutes, and following through on action items
- Coordinate and report on capex/programme implications
- Design and develop reporting dashboards and automated reporting solutions using tools such as Smartsheet and QuickSight
A day in the life
Your morning starts with data — scanning dashboards for overnight changes across the EMEA portfolio: a shifted energisation date in the Nordics, a permitting milestone in Ireland, updated cost forecasts in Southern Europe. You triage what matters before the weekly programme review. By mid-morning, you are the connective tissue between legal, finance, & capacity delivery — translating grid timelines into business context. Afternoons shift between building QuickSight dashboards that shape investment decisions & driving process improvements that eliminate manual reporting. Some weeks you support leadership deep-dives or stand up reporting frameworks for new country teams. No two weeks look the same.
About the team
The Infrastructure Energy Team (IET) secures and delivers the power infrastructure required to enable AWS growth across Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The team is seeking a results-orientated individual to join in the role of Grid Analyst. In this role you will support the stakeholder, administrative and contractual lifecycle of delivering power to existing and future AWS data centers throughout EMEA. This role provides an opportunity for a technically minded individual interested in building a foundation to further develop their skillset and advance their career within the energy sector. The successful candidate will be the single point of contact for AWS' grid connection applications, offers and agreements, overseeing application preparation and contractual terms management. The successful candidate will possess strong communication skills and an ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (Energy, Legal, Finance, Supply Strategy, Real Estate and Capacity Delivery) on reporting status, issues and key risks across a portfolio of infrastructure power delivery projects. The candidate will standardize processes and develop tools necessary to provide a single source of truth on status, budget, expenditure, capacity, key dates and contractual terms management across the portfolio of infrastructure power delivery projects in EMEA. The candidate will support due diligence assessments on power connection costs, timelines and key risks for proposed data centre sites.
