About this role
Job Summary:
We are looking for an AI Integration & Automation Specialist to help design, build and support modern automation solutions that improve business efficiency, reduce manual effort, strengthen operational control and enable the safe use of AI across the organisation.
This role will facilitate the development of reusable automation and integration patterns using Microsoft Power Platform, Co-pilot Studio, Azure integration services, APIs and other enterprise tools. The successful candidate will work closely with business teams, IT, data owners, security and compliance stakeholders to identify opportunities, design practical solutions and deliver governed automation that is reliable, supportable and scalable.
The initial focus will be on modernising an existing business-critical automation process, but the role is intended to grow into a wider capability for AI-assisted integration, workflow automation and process improvement across multiple business areas.
Requirements
Roles & Responsibilities:
Automation, AI and solution delivery
- Design, build and support automation solutions using Microsoft Power Platform, Co-pilot Studio, Power Automate, Dataverse, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions and related technologies.
- Create AI-assisted and rules-based workflows that improve business processes while preserving appropriate human review, approval and control.
- Develop reusable patterns for workflow orchestration, case management, exception handling, approvals, audit trails and operational reporting.
- Use Co-pilot Studio and AI agents where they add practical value, including guided triage, summarisation, user assistance, evidence generation, knowledge retrieval and controlled action execution.
Integration and workflow architecture
- Design integrations between Microsoft 365, business applications, customer service platforms, data platforms, workflow tools and internal APIs.
- Build or configure connectors, APIs, webhooks, event-driven workflows and data exchange patterns.
- Work with technical teams and system owners to understand existing applications, data flows, integration contracts and operational dependencies.
- Ensure integrations are secure, reliable and supportable, with appropriate authentication, authorisation, error handling, monitoring, logging and retry logic.
Business process improvement and user experience
- Work with stakeholders to identify automation opportunities, map current processes, assess risks and design improved future-state workflows.
- Translate business needs into clear requirements, prototypes, solution designs and delivery plans.
- Design practical user experiences for operational teams, including Power Apps, dashboards, case views, workflow status screens and exception queues.
- Ensure users have clear visibility of progress, outstanding actions, approvals, service levels and audit evidence, with the ability to safely review, approve, retry or escalate actions where appropriate.
Governance, security and stakeholder engagement
- Work with IT Security, Privacy, compliance and platform owners to ensure solutions meet security, governance, audit and data protection requirements.
- Apply appropriate controls for data access, role-based permissions, connector usage, environment management and data loss prevention.
- Ensure solutions are documented, monitored and supportable before production release, including runbooks, architecture diagrams, integration specifications and handover material.
- Partner with teams across IT and the business, communicating technical concepts clearly and acting as a trusted advisor for AI-enabled automation and process modernisation.
Qualifications and Skills
Essential requirements:
- Hands-on experience designing, building or operating AI agents or autonomous workflows in a production or controlled enterprise environment.
- Hands-on experience working with APIs, connectors, webhooks or other system-to-system integration methods.
- Experience delivering production solutions with appropriate authentication, authorisation, error handling, monitoring, logging and operational support arrangements.
- Ability to understand existing applications, data flows and integration dependencies and translate business requirements into clear technical designs.
- Experience of structured testing, technical documentation and controlled deployment or release management.
- Ability to work effectively with business stakeholders, application owners, infrastructure teams and control functions such as Cyber Security, Privacy or Risk.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a pragmatic and delivery-focused approach.
- Ability and willingness to develop further expertise in AI agents, Co-pilot Studio, Azure integration services and related emerging technologies.

- Experience with Microsoft Azure integration services such as Logic Apps, Functions, API Management, Event Grid, Service Bus or Microsoft Foundry.
- Experience creating custom connectors, using managed identities or service principals, and implementing OAuth or other enterprise authentication patterns.
- Experience using source control, CI/CD pipelines, solutions and environment strategies for Power Platform, Azure or AI solutions.
- Experience integrating with enterprise platforms such as Salesforce, ServiceNow, Jira, Zendesk, SharePoint, Teams, data warehouses, ERP systems or other line-of-business applications.

- Comfortable working with ambiguity, legacy systems and incomplete documentation.
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Able to build trust with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented, especially around auditability, supportability and operational risk.
