Recruitment experts Optime are excited to be recruiting Warehouse Operatives in partnership with Avanti Trains. This job offers fantastic hours and overtime opportunities. As a Warehouse Operative you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our catering and goods arrive with our train clients on time, in-line with various scheduling requirements.
What’s on offer:
- Rate of Pay: £12.71 hour
- Location: Manchester Piccadilly Train Station,
- Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 05:30 - 13:00

- 3 month contract with the opportunity to extend
Key Duties:
- Receiving, checking, and organising incoming catering goods and supplies.
- Picking, packing, and preparing stock for loading onto Avanti West Coast trains.
- Loading and distributing catering supplies to designated trains at Manchester Piccadilly Station.
- Restocking train bars and catering units after trains return from service.
- Unloading returned stock and checking for damaged or missing items.
- Using handheld scanners to track stock movements and maintain accurate records.
- Ensuring all goods are correctly packed, labelled, sealed, and allocated to the right trains.
- Coordinating with colleagues to meet train loading schedules and departure times.
- Following health and safety, food hygiene, and railway security procedures.
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe warehouse and loading area.
Requirements:
- This is a physically demanding role which requires you to stand for extended periods of time.
- Flexible and enthusiastic approach to work.
- Ability to demonstrate our core values.
- Basic numeracy skills .
- Basic Checking skills.
- Valid Passport or Driving Licence /Birth Certificate or National ID card
- UK Settled Status (If applicable)
- Proof of National Insurance
- Proof of (current) Address
