Horizon Bradco is seeking an experienced Hotside Service Technician with strong troubleshooting and repair skills in commercial gas and electric cooking equipment. If you can diagnose a gas ignition issue, trace an electrical fault, and get equipment back up and running, we want to hear from you.

About the Role

You will diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial cooking and food preparation equipment at customer locations. This position requires hands-on experience with gas-fired and electric appliances, a strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, and a commitment to safe, dependable service.

Responsibilities

- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial ovens, ranges, fryers, griddles, broilers, steamers, and other foodservice equipment.
- Diagnose gas system issues involving ignition systems, burners, gas valves, regulators, thermocouples, and flame-sensing components.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, including single- and three-phase circuits, heating elements, motors, contactors, relays, thermostats, and electronic controls.
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and service manuals.
- Perform preventive maintenance and verify proper equipment operation after repairs.
- Follow manufacturer procedures and applicable safety requirements, including lockout/tagout and safe gas-handling practices.
- Communicate findings, repair needs, and equipment status clearly to customers and the service team.
- Complete accurate service documentation, including work performed, parts used, and follow-up needs.
- Maintain company tools, service vehicle, and parts inventory.

Qualifications

- Previous experience servicing commercial gas and electric cooking equipment.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills and proficiency using a multimeter.
- Working knowledge of commercial gas systems, combustion, and ignition controls.
- Ability to diagnose equipment failures and complete repairs independently.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between customer locations.
- Ability to perform the physical duties of field service work, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience servicing cooking equipment in supermarkets, convenience stores, commissaries, or commercial kitchens.
- Manufacturer training or CFESA certification.
- Experience with steam equipment and electronic equipment controls.
