About this role

Job Title: Civil Engineer Project Manager Mission Critical / Data Center

Job Description This role is ideal for a civil or site engineer who has progressed into project management, understands large and complex site packages, and wants to focus their career in the mission-critical and data center market. You will lead large-scale, multi-phase civil site development projects across the Southeast, maintain a strong connection to technical design, and work directly with clients in a fast-paced, high-performance environment. The position offers the opportunity to help build and expand a mission-critical practice rather than simply inherit a mature role, providing significant exposure to major, complex civil developments and a clear path for career growth. Responsibilities

- Manage large-scale, multi-phase civil site development projects for mission-critical and data center clients.
- Prepare and oversee the development of construction drawings for site grading, water, sewer, and storm drainage infrastructure.
- Lead project teams to deliver civil design solutions that meet scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive project execution.
- Participate in client meetings, provide technical guidance, and deliver clear project updates to stakeholders.
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to support design development, modeling, and production of construction documents.
- Monitor project performance, including scope, schedule, and budget, and take proactive steps to keep projects on track.
- Support proposal development, including technical input and level-of-effort estimates, and contribute to project planning efforts.
- Provide leadership, direction, and mentoring to project team members, fostering collaboration and high-quality work.
- Manage multiple assignments simultaneously, prioritize tasks effectively, and ensure deadlines are consistently met.
- Apply strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail to resolve design and coordination issues during project delivery.
- Demonstrate understanding of business metrics and use them to guide decisions that support project and practice success.

Essential Skills

- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred.
- 6+ years of experience in civil engineering design, ideally with mission-critical or data center projects.
- Proven experience producing site design plans for large-scale, multi-phase developments.
- Strong understanding of civil site development, including grading, storm drainage, water, sewer, and utility infrastructure.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, with working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D for civil site design and documentation.
- Demonstrated project management experience, including managing scope, schedule, and budget for complex civil projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a client-facing focus.
- Strong leadership abilities and experience working within and directing project teams.
- Understanding of business metrics and how they relate to project and practice success.
- Proven ability to manage multiple assignments and appropriately prioritize workflow.
- Strong problem-solving skills and high attention to detail in design and documentation.
- Excellent time management skills and consistent ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Experience in industrial, manufacturing, logistics, warehouse, or other large, infrastructure-heavy site development is highly transferable and considered a strong asset.
- Experience with mission-critical facilities and data center site design is a plus.
- Interest in building and expanding a mission-critical practice and contributing to the growth of a specialized group.
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and adapt to evolving project requirements.
- Motivation to receive hands-on Civil 3D mentoring and continue professional development.
- Comfort working directly with clients and participating in regular project review and coordination meetings.
