About this role
GENERAL FUNCTION
Under the supervision of the Manager of Basketball & Director of Athletics Operations, Scorekeepers are responsible for recording the score of the Youth Basketball game being played in the assigned facility.
KNOW-HOW
Must be able to communicate effectively with all league participants. This includes officials, coaches, players, parents, and custodians, in addition to learning to operate the scoreboard. Scorekeepers must also be aware of the game being played for its duration.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES
- Recording the score of the Basketball games being played.
- Managing scoreboard clock during Basketball games.
- Employees regularly demonstrate behaviors in each of the four YMCA core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
- Perform other league-related duties as designated by Manager
Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumers.
Attend required abuse risk management training.
Adhere to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising consumers.
Report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.
SCOREKEEPER/TIMEKEEPER WILL:

EFFECT ON END RESULT
Effectively operate the scoreboard of New Canaan YMCA Basketball games for the duration of the contest.
