Secure Every Identity, from AI to Human

Identity is the key to unlocking the potential of AI. Okta secures AI by building the trusted, neutral infrastructure that enables organizations to safely embrace this new era. This work requires a relentless drive to solve complex challenges with real-world stakes. We are looking for builders and owners who operate with speed and urgency and execute with excellence.

This is an opportunity to do career-defining work. We're all in on this mission. If you are too, let's talk.

Solutions Engineering Associate – Commercial Accounts (Auth0) (P2)

The Solutions Engineering Team

At Okta, the Solutions Engineering (SE) team operates at the intersection of hands-on software development and strategic customer engagement. Our team advises developers, software architects, and technology leaders on how to build modern, secure, and friction-free login and identity experiences using the Auth0 platform.

We believe great Solutions Engineers combine technical problem-solving with genuine empathy for developers and end-users. We don't just talk about product features—we dive into code, explore application architectures, configure integrations, and show development teams how Auth0 accelerates time-to-market while hardening their security posture.

About the Role

We are seeking an energetic, technically curious Associate Solutions Engineer (P2) to join our team supporting Commercial accounts . In this role, you will partner with Commercial Account Executives and experienced Solutions Engineers to guide fast-growing mid-market and commercial customers through the technical evaluation of the Auth0 platform.

Covering Commercial accounts means working in a dynamic, high-velocity environment alongside innovative engineering teams, tech leads, and product owners across diverse industries. This is an ideal role for an early-career technologist with a solid foundation in software development or web architecture who loves customer engagement, problem-solving, and bringing code to life through live demos and technical proof-of-concepts.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Commercial Sales Cycle Engagement: Partner with Commercial Account Executives to drive technical discovery, qualify technical fit, and deliver compelling, developer-centric demonstrations of the Auth0 platform across a high-volume pipeline.

- Hands-on POCs & Prototyping: Build sample applications, configure authentication flows, and develop custom prototypes (using SDKs, APIs, and Auth0 Actions) to validate specific customer use cases and architectures.

- Technical Inquiries & Questionnaires: Lead and assist in authoring technical responses to security questionnaires, RFIs, and architectural inquiries with speed and precision.

- Developer & Architect Engagement: Walk software engineers, engineering managers, and product leads through API documentation, SDK implementations, token handling, and best practices for modern web and mobile applications.

- Agile Deal Velocity: Navigate fast-paced commercial sales cycles by rapidly diagnosing technical objections, addressing architectural edge cases, and demonstrating time-to-value.

- Continuous Learning & Collaboration: Stay current with identity protocols (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, JWT) and modern cloud application security trends, while collaborating cross-functionally with Product, Developer Relations, and Customer Success.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

- Experience: 1–2 years of experience in a customer-facing technical role (e.g., Solutions Engineering, Technical Support, Professional Services, or Technical Consulting) or equivalent experience in software engineering with a strong desire to transition into commercial presales.

- Coding Foundation: Hands-on programming experience in one or more modern languages (JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, Go, C#, or similar).

- Web & API Literacy: Solid understanding of modern web and mobile application architectures, RESTful APIs, HTTP methods, JSON, and testing tools like Postman or cURL.

- Core Identity Awareness: Foundational knowledge of authentication and authorization concepts, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), JSON Web Tokens (JWTs), Single Sign-On (SSO), and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).

- Communication & Agility: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical builders and commercial business stakeholders.

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.

Extra Credit (Preferred Qualifications)

- Direct experience integrating or configuring the Auth0 platform, developer SDKs, or similar identity libraries.

- Exposure to front-end frameworks (React, Angular, Vue, Next.js) or mobile development (iOS, Android, React Native, Flutter).

- Basic familiarity with cloud infrastructure platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and serverless environments.

- Experience in high-velocity sales environments or working with commercial/mid-market technology companies.

- Active contributions to hackathons, developer meetups, open-source projects, or technical blogs.
