Job Description

Job Scope

Everyone at Visa works with one goal in mind - making sure that Visa is the best way to pay and be paid, for everyone, everywhere. This is our global vision and the common purpose that unites the entire Visa team. As a global payments technology company, tech is at the heart of what we do: our VisaNet network processes thousands of transactions per second for people and businesses around the world, enabling them to use digital currency instead of cash and checks. We are also global advocates for financial inclusion, working with partners around the world to help those who lack access to financial services join the global economy.

This is a senior leadership role accountable for the Marketing Services agenda across the five markets of the Southern Cone cluster (Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay and Bolivia). This position is responsible for identifying and building new, incremental revenue-generating business opportunities with Visa's top clients, defining the next stage of capability development for the cluster Marketing Services team, and for sustaining the cluster's accelerated revenue growth trajectory over the medium and long term. The role leads and develops a multi-country team of Marketing Services Directors/Managers and acts as a senior strategic partner to the Country Managers and the VP Marketing of the Southern Cone cluster, reporting solid line into the VP Marketing Services, LAC.

1. Purpose

Lead the strategic direction of Marketing Services across the Southern Cone cluster, elevating the function from plan execution to strategic business development. The position is responsible for shaping and prioritizing where Visa invests its marketing resources across five markets, for building new sources of incremental revenue through client partnerships that go beyond the current scope of existing marketing plans, and for developing the people, skills and ways of working the regional team will need to sustain accelerated growth going forward. Ultimately, the role safeguards Visa's brand leadership in the cluster while ensuring every transaction opportunity with top clients is converted into a Visa transaction.

2. Main Responsibilities / Key Results Area

·       Define and lead the multi-year Marketing Services strategic agenda for the five Southern Cone markets, aligned with cluster, LAC regional and global business objectives.

·       Identify, structure and launch net-new, incremental revenue-generating business opportunities with top issuers, acquirers, fintechs and strategic partners across the cluster, beyond the scope of existing country marketing plans.

·       Lead, coach and develop a multi-country team of Marketing Services Directors/Managers, defining a capability-building roadmap (talent, skills, tools and ways of working) to professionalize and scale the function across the cluster.

·       Partner with Sales, Product, VCA and Innovation leadership to co-create differentiated, scalable client value propositions that accelerate payments volume and revenue growth.

·       Own the Marketing Services investment portfolio across the cluster, ensuring disciplined budget allocation, ROI tracking and performance accountability by country.

·       Act as senior strategic advisor to Country Managers and the VP Marketing on client growth strategy, portfolio prioritization and resource allocation trade-offs.

·       Lead the harmonization and scaling of best practices and winning marketing programs across the five countries, reducing duplication and accelerating speed to market.

·       Build a forward-looking capability agenda (digital and data-driven marketing, always-on client engagement models, new partnership formats) to future-proof the team against evolving market dynamics.

·       Monitor competitive, regulatory and consumer trends across Southern Cone to proactively identify new growth opportunities ahead of the market.

·       Represent Visa at the most senior levels with top clients, agencies, media and industry forums across the cluster.

·       Reports to: VP Marketing Services, LAC (solid line); dotted line to VP Marketing, Southern Cone Cluster.

3. Strategic Nature, Management Accountability & Scope

·       Full strategic and execution accountability for the Marketing Services agenda across Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay and Bolivia.

·       Leads and develops a team of country-level Marketing Services Directors/Managers; exercises strong influence over in-country cross-functional resources and external agencies.

·       Owns the medium- and long-term capability and talent roadmap for the function, in addition to the current-year operating plan.

·       Operates with a high degree of autonomy; sets strategic direction with limited oversight, escalating only key decisions and risks to the VP Marketing Services, LAC and the VP Marketing, Southern Cone Cluster.

·       Actively shapes new business models and partnership structures with clients, not only the execution of pre-defined marketing plans.

4. Decision Making & Complexity

·       Operates with significant autonomy, setting strategic priorities and allocating resources across five markets with differing levels of maturity, competitive intensity and regulatory complexity.

·       Balances short-term revenue commitments with long-term capability-building and brand investment decisions.

·       Resolves cross-country trade-offs on budget, talent and sponsorship/asset allocation to maximize cluster-wide impact.

·       Leads the team through ambiguity when developing net-new business opportunities that do not yet have an established playbook.

5. Reporting Relationships & Interactions

·       Reports solid line to the VP Marketing Services, LAC, with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the VP Marketing, Southern Cone Cluster.

·       Leads a team of Marketing Services Directors/Managers across the five countries of the cluster.

·       Engages regularly with Country Managers, LAC regional Marketing, Sales leadership, Product and Data & Services leadership.

·       Represents Visa externally with C-level and senior client stakeholders, creative and media agencies, and industry forums across the cluster.
