About this role
Kroll is seeking a Manager-level Client Engagement Lead to join its Discovery & Analytics Solutions practice. This role will lead the effective coordination and operational delivery of West Coast and global engagements, with responsibility for matter intake, staffing, schedules, reporting, cross-functional alignment, risk identification, and follow-through.
Reporting directly to the Senior Director, Sensitive Data Review, this position will provide dedicated engagement leadership, practice operations, and executive support. The Manager will serve as a central point of coordination across the sensitive data review engagement portfolio, independently driving priorities and ensuring leadership maintains visibility into active matters, staffing, financial performance, client deliverables, operational risks, and outstanding decisions.
Day to day responsibilities:
- Coordinate new-matter intake, kickoff preparation, stakeholder lists, staffing requirements, and operational readiness.
- Own and maintain a centralized engagement management tracker across assigned active and prospective matters, providing leadership with visibility into engagement status, scope, milestones, staffing, dependencies, deliverables, deadlines, financial milestones, operational risks, and required decisions. Proactively identify gaps, escalate issues, and drive follow-through to resolution.
- Coordinate recurring client and internal meetings, maintain integrated schedules, prepare status reports, and drive timely follow-up across clients, law firms, delivery teams, and internal practices.
- Prepare concise client-ready status materials and ensure open questions, decisions, and commitments are tracked to closure.
- Support resource planning by consolidating staffing needs, availability, role requirements, and workload information.
- Facilitate cross-functional alignment across Discovery, Cyber, Forensics, Investigations, Analytics, Finance, and other relevant teams.
- Proactively identify operational gaps, competing priorities, resource constraints, and delayed dependencies across assigned engagements. Assess potential impacts, coordinate appropriate follow-up with stakeholders, and escalate material risks to practice leadership with recommended next steps.
- Develop and maintain standardized intake processes, engagement management trackers, executive dashboards, and operational reporting templates. Prepare consolidated weekly portfolio reporting covering engagement status, staffing, utilization, financial performance, key milestones, outstanding actions, and operational risks to support practice leadership decision-making.
- Support client-relationship and business-development activities by coordinating meetings and materials, tracking commitments, and ensuring timely follow-through.
- Support engagement-level financial and commercial oversight by maintaining visibility into project budgets, revenue forecasts, invoicing milestones, vendor expenditures, resource utilization and potential margin risks. Coordinate with Finance, project managers, and practice leadership to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Provide direct operational and administrative support to senior practice leadership, including calendar coordination, meeting preparation, executive briefings, correspondence follow-up, prioritization of action items, and tracking of leadership commitments. Anticipate upcoming needs and proactively coordinate activities to support effective decision-making and execution.
Essential traits:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Legal Studies, Communications, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- Typically 5–7 years of progressive experience in professional services, legal operations, eDiscovery, project or engagement management, client service, or a related field, including experience independently leading complex, concurrent workstreams.
- Demonstrated ability to lead coordination across multiple stakeholders, deadlines, and workstreams; establish accountability; and drive timely decisions and execution in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication, client and executive presence, meeting facilitation, reporting, documentation, and follow-up skills.
- Familiarity with eDiscovery, litigation, investigations, cybersecurity, or complex professional-services delivery preferred.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across practices and time zones and to maintain working hours that provide reliable coverage for U.S. West Coast clients and teams.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage competing priorities, anticipate leadership needs, exercise sound judgment, and proactively coordinate operational activities with minimal supervision.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and project management or engagement tracking platforms. Experience developing executive dashboards, financial reports, or operational performance reporting preferred.
- Experience supporting senior business leaders or coordinating multiple concurrent client engagements, with demonstrated discretion, professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential client and business information.
