This role is responsible for ensuring customer interactions across digital experiences are accurately measured through well-defined technical tracking requirements, measurement standards, event taxonomies, tracking plans, tag management practices, SDK configuration support, and data quality validation. The role partners closely with Product, UX, Engineering, QA, and Analytics teams to translate business objectives into implementation-ready measurement plans, support analytics tracking implementations, validate event quality, and enable reliable reporting, experimentation, marketing measurement, and product insights.
The role serves as the primary subject matter expert for digital analytics measurement readiness, tracking standards, taxonomy governance, implementation readiness, tag management support, analytics SDK configuration support, and measurement quality across digital products.
Primary Responsibilities
• Partner with Product Owners, UX, Digital Application Developers, Analysts, and business stakeholders to translate business objectives into technical measurement requirements, event tracking specifications, and implementation-ready tracking plans.
• Partner with analysts, product teams, and end users to ensure KPI definitions, success metrics, guardrail metrics, audience segments, and experimentation needs are understood and reflected in tracking requirements.
• Develop and maintain tracking plans, event specifications, tag requirements, implementation notes, data dictionaries, and analytics measurement documentation for digital experiences and product features.
• Define, maintain, and govern analytics event taxonomies, naming conventions, event properties, user attributes, dataLayer expectations, and data dictionary standards.
• Establish and promote consistent measurement practices across web, mobile, and other digital experiences to align with enterprise standards and approved taxonomy.
• Partner with Engineering and QA teams to communicate approved tracking specifications, review implementation readiness, and verify that required analytics data is available for reporting, experimentation, marketing measurement, and product analysis.
• Participate in feature reviews and release planning activities to ensure measurement requirements are incorporated into delivery processes.
• Support implementation reviews prior to deployment without owning application code changes or backend telemetry architecture.
• Support Google Tag Manager setup, configuration, administration, and ongoing optimization for approved analytics and marketing measurement use cases.
• Read, interpret, and apply technical documentation related to JavaScript, dataLayer structures, tag templates, browser privacy, cookie blocking, user agents, bot traffic, SDK behavior, batching, APIs, and third-party measurement requirements.
• Support analytics SDK configuration, upgrades, and validation activities to help ensure analytics functionality remains intact after SDK changes or vendor updates.
• Support API setup and configuration needs for approved third-party marketing measurement and analytics integrations, in partnership with Engineering and platform owners.
• Validate event collection, event properties, user attributes, audience segmentation, tag behavior, and measurement requirements through testing and analytics QA processes.
• Conduct release validation to confirm analytics and marketing measurement data is collected accurately and consistently.
• Monitor analytics data quality and proactively identify missing, duplicate, or inaccurate tracking data, resolving data quality issues with Product, Engineering, QA, and Analytics teams.
• Partner with Product, Analytics, and Engineering teams to support experiment design, measurement readiness, and post-launch measurement validation.
• Ensure tracking requirements needed for success metrics, guardrail metrics, audience segmentation, and experiment analysis are defined prior to experiment launch.
• Maintain analytics event inventories, tracking plans, measurement specifications, data dictionaries, implementation notes, tag configuration notes, SDK implementation notes, API integration notes, and experiment measurement documentation.
• Support analysts and business partners by ensuring measurement requirements enable reporting, dashboards, product analytics, marketing measurement, experimentation, and insight generation.
