Job Description
The Digital Marketing Analytics team is seeking a Business Analytics Lead - Digital Data Expert to help build and strengthen the data foundation that powers digital marketing measurement, analytics, experimentation, and optimization.
Our team’s mission is to enable better marketing decisions through trusted measurement, customer intelligence, experimentation, and optimization. We turn fragmented marketing data into actionable insights that improve customer outcomes and business value.
This role will serve as the team’s subject-matter expert on digital marketing and digital behavioral data, helping analysts understand how data is generated, collected, transformed, connected, and ultimately used for measurement and decision-making.
The ideal candidate combines strong SQL and data skills with a deep understanding of the digital marketing ecosystem. This person should be comfortable tracing data end-to-end, diagnosing data-quality and tracking issues, working with large and complex datasets, and translating business measurement needs into scalable data solutions.
What Will you Do:
Own expertise in the digital data ecosystem:
- Develop a deep understanding of the data supporting Digital Marketing Analytics, including website behavioral data, digital applications, paid-media data, campaign data, and downstream customer/account outcomes.
- Understand how digital data moves from source platforms through data pipelines and analytical layers into reporting, attribution, experimentation, and advanced analytics.
- Create and maintain clear documentation of digital datasets, fields, definitions, business rules, lineage, dependencies, and known limitations.
Make Digital Data easier to use and trust:
- Partner with analysts, Marketing, MarTech, and Data teams to identify and resolve data gaps, inconsistencies, and quality issues.
- Establish reusable datasets and analytical data assets that reduce repetitive data preparation and create consistent definitions across the team.
- Help establish governed, reliable sources of truth for digital marketing performance.
Enable Digital Marketing Measurement:
- Build and enhance datasets supporting funnel measurement, channel performance, attribution, experimentation, and customer/account quality.
- Connect upstream digital interactions to downstream outcomes so Marketing can evaluate performance beyond clicks and application activity.
- Support analytical use cases across Paid Search, Display, Social, Affiliate, owned digital experiences, and emerging digital channels.
Must-have qualifications:
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with large, complex datasets.
- Strong understanding of digital analytics data, including website/app behavioral data and digital marketing data.
- Experience performing data validation, reconciliation, and root-cause analysis.
- Experience connecting multiple data sources to create reusable analytical datasets.
- Ability to understand and document data lineage, transformations, definitions, and dependencies.
- Ability to translate business and analytical requirements into data requirements.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate technical data concepts clearly to analysts and nontechnical business partners.
Nice-to-have qualifications:
Experience with several of the following would be especially valuable:
- Adobe Analytics / Adobe Experience Platform
- Customer Journey Analytics (CJA)
- Customer Data Platform (CDP) concepts
- Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO)
- Google Campaign Manager / Google advertising data
- Paid Search, Display, Social, Affiliate, or other digital media data
PNC Employees take pride in our reputation and to continue building upon that we expect our employees to be:
- Customer Focused - Knowledgeable of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and able to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.
