About this role
Internship Opportunities at Community Bridges
Community Bridges offers internship and shadowing opportunities for students pursuing careers in social work, human services, nutrition, and nursing. These placements connect academic learning with community-based services that support the health, dignity, and stability of children, families, and older adults.
Interns learn alongside experienced professionals, develop practical skills, and gain insight into how programs respond to individual and community needs. Community Bridges views these opportunities as an investment in emerging professionals, helping students build confidence, explore career interests, and prepare for future work in their fields.
Students completing Master of Social Work requirements can gain experience through our behavioral health program and Family Resource Collective (FRC), with opportunities to deepen their understanding of emotional well-being and family support. Human services placements for students pursuing associate or bachelors degrees are available with FRC centers, Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), and more programs, offering exposure to resource navigation, community services, and coordinated support.
Within our programs, bachelors-level social work students can explore person-centered services and care coordination. We also offer nursing shadowing and internship opportunities focused on the role of nursing within a multidisciplinary care environment. Students completing dietetics or registered dietitian requirements can connect nutrition studies with community needs and learn about the role of nutrition services in supporting health and well-being.
Across placements, students can strengthen their communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills while developing an understanding of equitable, compassionate service. Ideal candidates bring curiosity, professionalism, respect for people of diverse backgrounds, and a commitment to learning and contributing to the community.
