About this role

Job Title: Parts Customer Service Representative Job Description
The Parts Customer Service Representative combines strong customer service skills with hands-on experience identifying, recommending, and fulfilling parts. This role is not a traditional call-center position; instead, you will speak directly with customers who may not know exact part numbers, ask targeted questions to understand what they truly need, and navigate product catalogs and internal systems to identify the correct parts and solutions. You will play a key role in supporting customers in mechanical, industrial, and data center markets while contributing to a growing organization that offers technical training, visibility with leadership, and opportunities for professional growth and advancement.
Responsibilities
- Speak directly with customers to understand their parts and product needs by phone and email.
- Ask open- and closed-ended questions to uncover what the customer actually needs, even when they do not have an exact part number.
- Assist customers who describe a part or application rather than provide a specific product or part number.
- Navigate product catalogs and available resources to identify appropriate parts, hoses, fittings, and related components.
- Help customers identify the correct product or part for their application and recommend suitable alternatives when necessary.
- Provide customer support and order assistance, ensuring a smooth and professional customer experience.
- Ensure accuracy when identifying parts and fulfilling orders, verifying details before completion.
- Handle approximately 15 customer calls per day while maintaining high service standards.
- Manage and navigate multiple email inboxes and customer aliases throughout the day.
- Utilize the ERP system continuously to look up products, manage orders, and document customer interactions.
- Perform limited order entry with careful attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Independently resolve customer needs whenever possible, using sound judgment to determine appropriate solutions.
- Recognize when technical or complex requests should be escalated to internal technical resources and follow established escalation procedures.
- Comfortably talk customers through parts, hoses, fittings, threads, and similar mechanical or industrial products.
- Navigate multiple software systems as part of daily workflow, including ERP and email tools.
- Support customers in industries such as construction, manufacturing, energy, chemical processing, biopharmaceuticals, food and beverage, marine applications, and data center liquid cooling systems.
Essential Skills
- Prior experience identifying, recommending, or fulfilling parts in an industrial, automotive, distribution, manufacturing, mechanical-product, or similar environment.
- Strong customer service skills with a professional, patient, and solution-oriented approach.
- Excellent phone communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts in clear, simple language.
- Ability to ask effective open- and closed-ended questions to accurately determine customer needs.
- Comfort speaking with customers about parts, hoses, fittings, threads, and similar mechanical components.
- Proven ability to navigate product catalogs and resources to identify the correct product or part.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when identifying parts and processing orders.
- Independent problem-solving skills with good judgment around when to resolve issues directly and when to escalate requests.
- Comfort navigating multiple software systems during the workday.
- ERP system experience preferred, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Industrial, automotive, distribution, manufacturing, or mechanical-product experience strongly preferred.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, both written and verbal.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Acumatica ERP or similar ERP platforms.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace and Gmail for daily communication and coordination.
- Knowledge of hydraulic hose, fittings, threads, industrial parts, or mechanical components.
- Experience working with industrial supply distributors, mechanical supply houses, plumbing supply, industrial supply, or manufacturing/distribution environments.
- Background in automotive parts, parts specialist or parts counter roles, including experience at automotive parts companies.
- Inside sales experience involving product identification and recommendations.
- Warehouse or operations experience focused on parts and order fulfillment, especially for candidates seeking to transition into an office-based, customer-facing role.
- Understanding of back-of-house operations and responsibility for ensuring parts and orders are accurate.
- Desire to grow into a role that offers technical training, interaction with leadership, and opportunities for advancement.
Work Environment
This role is based in the Denver metro area and is primarily onsite, with hybrid flexibility not typically extended to this position. You will work in an office environment that supports a manufacturing and distribution operation for industrial fluid transfer components, including stainless steel fittings and adapters, hydraulic hose fittings, compression tube fittings, instrumentation fittings, quick disconnect couplings, hydraulic and industrial hoses, valves and gauges, stainless steel tubing, and custom hose assemblies and machined fittings. The work involves frequent use of an ERP system, email platforms such as Gmail, and digital product catalogs and resources. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and technical resources while supporting customers across construction, heavy equipment, manufacturing, energy, chemical processing, biopharmaceutical, food and beverage, marine, and data center liquid cooling applications. The environment emphasizes accuracy, technical learning, and professional growth, with a focus on providing responsive, high-quality customer service in a structured, office-based setting.
