Job Title: Supply Chain Planner 5 Job Description
The Supply Chain Planner 5 supports the development and execution of forward and reverse supply plans to optimize service levels, costs, and inventory positioning. This role performs detailed supply and demand analysis, including scenario-based what-if modeling, and collaborates closely on raw material planning, excess inventory identification, and supplier alignment on build plans. The planner gains proficiency in supply chain tools and processes, contributes to operational improvements, and plays a key role in supporting large-scale GPU and commercial cloud deployments through data-driven decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Utilize supply chain tools to streamline operations, reduce manual labor, and improve overall efficiency.
- Build and maintain dashboards in Power BI or Tableau, interpret complex datasets, and perform root cause analysis to support inventory and supply decisions.
- Contribute to process automation initiatives and help ensure systems are scalable and robust.
- Act as a liaison between cross-functional teams to ensure priorities are clearly defined, communicated, and executed.
- Provide timely updates, status reports, and escalations to stakeholders to support informed decision-making.
- Assist in raw material planning, including product lifecycle transitions and last-time buys.
- Support buffer strategies, excess inventory mitigation, and collaborate on rework and redeployment of goods to maximize asset utilization.
- Contribute to planning strategies that balance service levels, cost, and inventory under demand uncertainty.
- Support material transfers and inventory alignment across locations to maintain appropriate stock levels.
- Begin to design solutions for demand shifts and inventory adjustments using data-driven insights.
- Partner with suppliers to resolve capacity or material constraints and align on build plans that meet operational needs.
- Monitor supplier capacity, compliance, and performance metrics to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
- Support mid-term capacity planning and investment alignment to ensure supply readiness for future demand.
- Analyze supply and demand scenarios, identify risks and gaps, and support contingency planning.
- Help develop and execute supply plans in coordination with factories, logistics teams, and other operations stakeholders.
- Apply basic financial analysis to assess supply chain effectiveness and support cost-optimized decisions.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities in products, processes, or services related to supply chain operations.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness in documentation, data entry, and reporting to maintain high-quality information for planning.
- Interpret complex data sets to inform supply chain decisions, identify trends, and highlight potential issues or gaps.
Essential Skills
- Hands-on experience in supply chain planning and operations, including supply and demand planning, inventory management, order fulfillment, supplier operations, and manufacturing.
- Demonstrated ability to build dashboards and reports in Power BI or Tableau, not just consume existing dashboards.
- Strong data analysis skills, including working with complex datasets, identifying trends and risks, performing root cause analysis, and translating data into actionable business insights.
- Proficiency in supply chain tools and analytics platforms used for planning and operational decision support.
- Ability to quickly process and adapt to new information in a dynamic environment.
- Strong detail orientation with a focus on accuracy and completeness in documentation and data.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to present findings and recommendations clearly.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate issues and develop practical, actionable solutions.
- Basic financial acumen to apply financial analysis when assessing supply chain effectiveness.
- Experience in supply chain, operations, sourcing, or manufacturing, typically 4+ years with a bachelors degree or 2+ years with a masters degree.
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field, or a masters degree in a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with supply planning tools and systems used to manage inventory and capacity.
- Background in supplier collaboration, including working directly with suppliers on constraints, build plans, and performance metrics.
- Knowledge of logistics and procurement processes and how they integrate into end-to-end supply chain operations.
- Familiarity with inventory management practices, buffer strategies, and excess inventory mitigation.
- Understanding of raw material planning, product lifecycle management, and last-time buy strategies.
- Experience in continuous improvement, including identifying process inefficiencies and implementing enhancements.
- Ability to contribute to process automation and system scalability initiatives.
- Exposure to GPU or commercial cloud-related supply chain operations is beneficial but not required.
- Masters degree in a related field is a plus.
- Equivalent practical experience may substitute for formal education where appropriate.
