About the Role

Elemental is seeking a Communications Manager to help drive the day-to-day execution of our communications strategy across social media, content, and key team priorities.

In this role, you will manage Elemental’s social media channels, help develop compelling content across our communications platforms, and use data and insights to strengthen our storytelling. You will also play an important role in project managing work across the Communications team to help translate priorities into clear plans, coordinating timelines and inputs, and keeping projects moving from idea through execution.

This role is ideal for a strong writer and highly organized communicator who can move comfortably between creating the work and making sure the work gets done. We’re looking for someone who brings strong judgment, curiosity, creativity, and attention to detail—and is excited to continue building their communications expertise while taking meaningful ownership of their work.

This position reports to the Director of Marketing Communications and works closely with colleagues across the Communications team.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Social & Communications

- Manage the day-to-day execution of Elemental’s social media channels, with a particular focus on LinkedIn, including editorial planning, drafting, approvals, publishing, and performance tracking.

- Support social media community engagement, including identifying opportunities to engage with relevant conversations and monitoring inbound activity.

- Draft and edit longer-form communications, including newsletters, blog posts, case studies, portfolio stories, executive content, and event materials.

- Recommend creative approaches and visuals to bring stories to life—including photos, graphics, video, and other assets—and coordinate with our graphic designer as needed.

- Support earned media and executive communications, including drafting pitches, briefing books, talking points, and background materials.

- Monitor relevant media and sector conversations, partners, portfolio companies, and peers to identify timely opportunities for storytelling and engagement.

Project Management

- Project manage key Communications team priorities from planning through execution, developing timelines, coordinating inputs and approvals, and keeping deliverables on track.

- Help maintain visibility across team priorities, deadlines, and dependencies, proactively flagging risks, questions, or decisions needed to keep work moving.

- Coordinate with colleagues across Elemental on communications projects, ensuring the right people are engaged and clear on deliverables, timelines, and next steps.

- Help strengthen team processes, tools, and ways of working to make communications planning and execution more effective.

Data & Insights

- Track and organize performance data across Elemental’s owned and earned communications, maintaining key metrics trackers and dashboards.

- Explore and apply AI tools to improve communications workflows, surface insights, and create efficiencies across content development, analysis, and team processes.

- Analyze performance to understand what content is resonating, identify patterns, and make recommendations that strengthen our communications strategy.

About you

You are a strong writer, thoughtful communicator, and highly organized project manager who enjoys both creative work and bringing structure to complex projects. You are comfortable taking ownership of work while collaborating closely with others, and ask the right questions when something is unclear. You care about the details, but can also understand the larger objective behind the work and make thoughtful decisions about how to get there.

You are curious about what makes communications effective—whether that means finding the right way to tell a story, understanding why a piece of content performed well, or improving a process so the team can work more effectively. You are eager to deepen your knowledge of climate innovation and continue building your craft as a communications professional.

Qualifications

Foundational skills & experience:

- Relevant experience in communications, marketing, social media, public relations, journalism, nonprofit communications, or a related field.

- Experience managing social media channels and developing digital content, with specific experience on LinkedIn.

- Strong project management and organizational skills, with experience coordinating multiple stakeholders, timelines, and deliverables.

- Experience drafting a range of communications materials; experience with media pitches, briefing materials, executive communications, or earned media is a plus.

- Comfort working with communications metrics and using data to identify insights and inform recommendations.

- Strong attention to detail and sound editorial judgment, with an ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences and formats.

- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and build strong working relationships.

- Comfort receiving feedback, incorporating it into your work, and continuing to strengthen your craft.

- Interest/experience in climate tech, entrepreneurship, sustainability, nonprofit work, and/or environmental impact is a plus.
