About this role

We are currently seeking a Parts Advisor to join the team at our Internal Preparation Centre, Harlow.

The Parts Advisor keeps the internal preparation centre supplied with the right parts, at the right time, so every vehicle leaves preparation on schedule and to manufacturer standard. You are the single point of control for parts into the workshop: issuing, recording and replenishing stock for the technicians and preparation staff.

Unlike a front-counter retail role, most of your day is spent supporting colleagues behind the scenes. Speed, accuracy and organisation matter more than walk-in sales, although you will still handle enquiries from other sites, sales teams and occasional trade or retail customers.

Key Responsibilities/Objectives:

- Control and issue parts, accessories and consumables to technicians and preparation staff, recording every issue accurately against the correct job card or vehicle on CDK Global.
- Pick and pre-kit parts in advance for scheduled PDIs, services and accessory fits, so vehicles are not held waiting on the ramp.
- Source parts not held in stock from the manufacturer, group sites and approved suppliers, and keep the workshop updated on ETAs.
- Chase back orders and flag any parts delays that put a customer handover date at risk.
- Process returns, surplus and warranty parts promptly, following manufacturer warranty procedures.
- Inspect all deliveries for damage on receipt and check quantities against the delivery note, reporting any shortages, damage or incorrect items.
- Book stock in on CDK and place it in the correct bin locations, noting shelf life where applicable and rotating stock first-in, first-out.
- Carry out regular perpetual inventory (PI) checks and support the annual stocktake, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Monitor stock levels of high-usage preparation items (fluids, filters, wiper blades, number plates, accessories) and raise orders to maintain availability.
- Keep obsolete and slow-moving stock to a minimum and return eligible items to the manufacturer.

In order to be successful within the Preparation Centre Parts Advisor position, you should have:

- A good level of Keyloop POS competence is preferrable.
- Excellent communication skills and the professionalism to work closely with the all team members.
- A strong background in a Parts/stock management evnironment.
- Good IT skills.
- Maintain a high level of self-motivation.
- Comfortable in a pressurised logistical environment.
- A full UK driving licence is essential.

Working Hours: 42.5 hrs per week (Monday - Friday)

Salary: £30,277 + Bonus

Benefits: 25 Days Holiday Allowance, Company Pension Scheme, Staff Discount on Vehicles and Servicing, Career Development
