Optical Mechanic / Optical Worker (Edging & Mounting)

At Essilor , we are committed to manufacturing high-quality prescription lenses that help people see the world more clearly. Based at our Silverwater production facility, our team combines advanced technology, precision craftsmanship, and attention to detail to create custom-made lenses that meet the unique needs of every patient.

We are currently seeking an experienced Optical Mechanic or Optical Worker with exposure to edging and mounting processes . We also welcome applications from individuals with exceptional fine motor skills, strong attention to detail, and a genuine interest in developing a career within the optical industry.

About the Role
As part of our production team, you will play an important role in delivering quality products safely, efficiently, and accurately. You will operate specialised equipment, maintain quality standards, and contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate edging, mounting, and production equipment in accordance with SOPs and quality standards.

- Ensure all work is completed accurately and efficiently to meet customer and patient requirements.

- Follow all health, safety, and operational procedures.

- Monitor production output and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

- Maintain production equipment and report any operational issues.

- Support workflow requirements and demonstrate flexibility across different production areas.

- Participate in training and ongoing skills development.

- Contribute to quality, service, and productivity targets within the laboratory.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Experience as an Optical Mechanic, Optical Worker, or within a manufacturing/production environment.

- Experience with edging and mounting processes (preferred).

- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to perform repetitive precision-based tasks.

- Strong fine motor skills and the ability to handle lenses carefully throughout the production process.

- Good organisational and time management skills.

- A proactive, reliable, and team-focused attitude.

- A commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.

- Ability to perform manual handling tasks
