Reporting directly to the regional business head, you will turn financial, sales and operational data into clear insights and practical recommendations. You will own the reporting and planning cadence, build reliable forecasts and support decisions on growth, investment and resource allocation.
The role requires experience in management accounting and management consulting, strong financial modelling skills and confidence working with complex data. You must be comfortable challenging assumptions, explaining performance and engaging with senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Management Reporting and Business Performance
• Own monthly and quarterly management reporting across markets, clients, products and sales teams.
• Analyse payment volume, revenue, rebates, incentives, costs and profitability, including domestic and cross-border performance.
• Explain variances against budget, forecast and prior year, identifying the underlying drivers and corrective actions.
• Prepare concise executive reports and materials for business reviews.
• Work with Finance, Sales and Product teams to maintain consistent definitions and accurate reporting.
Forecasting, Budgeting and Planning
• Lead the preparation and coordination of annual budgets, regular forecasts and longer-term business plans.
• Build forecasts using client performance, sales pipelines, product adoption and market assumptions.
• Assess forecast accuracy and challenge assumptions with business owners.
• Develop scenarios and sensitivity analysis to support investment and resource decisions.
• Translate regional priorities into measurable plans, targets and milestones.
Data Analysis and Modelling
• Build and maintain financial and commercial models that connect payment volume, pricing, revenue, incentives and costs.
• Analyse large datasets to identify growth opportunities, performance gaps and emerging risks.
• Develop dashboards and automate recurring reporting where practical.
• Reconcile data across sources and resolve inconsistencies with the relevant teams.
• Document assumptions, calculations and data sources so models can be reviewed and reused.
Sales Incentive Planning, Monitoring and Audit
• Coordinate sales incentive plan design and target setting with Sales leadership, Finance and HR.
• Ensure targets align with business budgets, territory potential, account ownership and individual responsibilities.
• Monitor attainment and validate the data used for incentive calculations.
• Review deal attribution, sales credit, exceptions and potential double counting against approved rules.
• Maintain records of target changes, approvals and adjustments.
• Conduct periodic checks of incentive calculations and supporting evidence, and support formal audits.
• Escalate discrepancies and recommend improvements to strengthen accuracy and accountability.
Decision Support
• Prepare business cases for new opportunities, partnerships and investments.
• Assess expected returns, costs, delivery requirements and commercial risks.
• Track agreed actions and benefits against approved business cases.
• Provide direct analytical support to the SVP on regional priorities and executive requests.
Required Experience and Qualifications
• Relevant experience in both management accounting and management consulting, with exposure to commercial planning and performance analysis.
• A degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business or a related quantitative discipline.
• Strong understanding of management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, profitability and financial controls.
• Advanced Excel skills and demonstrated experience building financial and data models.
• Experience using Power BI, Tableau or similar tools. SQL capability is strongly preferred.
• Experience setting, monitoring or reviewing sales incentive plans and performance targets.
• Ability to convert complex analysis into clear recommendations and executive presentations.
• Strong attention to detail, sound judgement and the confidence to challenge unsupported assumptions.
• Ability to manage competing deadlines and work across regional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
• CIMA, ACCA, ACA, CPA or an equivalent accounting qualification.
• Experience in payments, banking, financial services or another business driven by transaction volumes.
• Familiarity with CRM platforms, sales pipeline analysis and reporting automation.
What Success Looks Like
• Management receives timely, accurate reporting with a clear explanation of performance.
• Forecasts are credible, assumptions are transparent and variances are understood.
• Budgets and sales targets reflect commercial priorities and realistic growth opportunities.
• Incentive calculations and sales attribution are accurate, documented and auditable.
• Analysis leads to better decisions and measurable business outcomes.
