Maintenance Supervisor

ABOUT THE ROLE

Amsted Automotive, TransForm Automotive, Shelby Twp , is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor who will be responsible for overall plant performance, including preventative maintenance to improve operational efficiency, productivity, and quality, utilizing proper planning and coordination of parts, machinery, and labor allocation.

WHAT YOULL DO

- As our Maintenance Supervisor , youll lead a skilled maintenance team and play a critical role in keeping our manufacturing operation running safely, reliably, and efficiently. Youll combine hands-on technical knowledge with strong leadership, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.

Lead, coach, and develop maintenance team members while supporting a strong culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork.

- Supervise daily maintenance operations and ensure prompt, efficient, high-quality support to plant operations.

- Troubleshoot complex equipment issues involving electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

- Apply working knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLC logic to support equipment troubleshooting.

- Support the maintenance, repair, rebuild, and installation of mechanical and hydraulic presses and other production equipment.

- Drive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and develop permanent corrective actions that improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency.

- Strengthen preventive, predictive, and TPM maintenance programs to maximize equipment effectiveness and minimize downtime.

- Manage maintenance work orders, priorities, schedules, and project completion using cost-effective and efficient solutions.

- Maintain the MRO and critical spare-parts program , adjusting inventory levels based on equipment and operational needs.

- Read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic prints to support troubleshooting and repairs.

- Incorporate Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and waste-elimination principles into maintenance activities and projects.

- Participate in Elimination of Waste initiatives and support company goals and continuous improvement efforts.

- Ensure all maintenance employees follow company safety requirements, policies, procedures, and work standards .

- Maintain equipment, service, training, and education records required to support the IATF Management System .

- Serve as a key connection between Maintenance and plant operations , ensuring maintenance priorities support production needs and customer requirements.

- Maintain clean, organized, and safe maintenance work areas.

- Support other maintenance responsibilities and projects as assigned by Maintenance leadership.

WHAT YOULL NEED TO SUCCEED

- High school diploma or GED required

- Some college or technical trade education is preferred

- Minimum 5 years previous experience in plant maintenance

- Maintenance Electrician, Technician, Journeyman status or equivalent

- Usage of a computer, and other applicable office machinery, press and machinery control panels

- Excellent communication skills for interaction with the workforce, its suppliers and customers

- Possess working knowledge of IATF16949, ISO 14001, and Q1 compliance criteria

WHAT ELSE YOULL NEED TO KNOW

- Excellent manual dexterity, ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently

- Work may require extended periods of sitting, standing, lifting, bending, stooping and performing repetitive motion tasks

- Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with continuous exposure to noise

- Must be able to work necessary overtime if required

- Ability to work with minimal supervision

- Must be able to sustain the fast-paced demands of an automotive production environment
