Our people are united by a shared way of working: follow the science, challenge assumptions, act with urgency and hold ourselves to a high standard of rigor—all in service of patients.
The Opportunity:
This is a unique and high-impact opportunity to help shape how a rapidly growing oncology company manages its pipeline, prioritizes decisions, and integrates strategic intelligence across its portfolio. Revolution Medicines is at an inflection point — with a growing clinical pipeline, increasing organizational complexity, and significant decisions ahead around program advancement, resource allocation, and competitive positioning. This role sits at the center of that work.
The Senior/Executive Director, Portfolio Systems & Strategy Integration - initially reporting to the SVP, Head of Program, Lifecycle, and Portfolio Strategy (PLPS) – will own and evolve RevMed’s Portfolio Systems and Intelligence capability, ensuring leaders have the integrated data, insights, tools, and decision infrastructure needed to understand portfolio health, evaluate strategic trade-offs, and make high-quality portfolio decisions. They will serve as a trusted operational and strategic partner to the Head of PLPS, functioning as both a systems integrator and a strategic thought partner.
They will partner closely with Information Technology to translate portfolio business requirements into scalable technology, data, and integration solutions This is a builder’s role for someone who thrives on both getting systems right and getting things done.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and evolve the Portfolio Systems strategy and roadmap, including the evaluation, selection, design, implementation, adoption, and optimization of portfolio platforms, data infrastructure, dashboards, and decision-support tools.
- Build and lead RevMed’s integrated intelligence capability by synthesizing inputs from Clinical, Regulatory, CMC, Commercialization, and Finance into coherent views of portfolio health, risks, opportunities, dependencies and strategic trade offs, ensuring leadership has the right information at the right time — especially at key decision gates and governance forums.
- Partner closely with Information Technology to translate portfolio business requirements into scalable technology and integration solutions.
- Lead and coordinate cross-portfolio strategy projects, including portfolio prioritization analyses, scenario planning exercises, and pipeline reviews. Scope and execute these projects with minimal direction.
- Lead complex cross-portfolio analyses and strategic initiatives, including portfolio prioritization, scenario planning, pipeline reviews, and resource-allocation analyses.
- Independently scope the work, integrate cross-functional perspectives, and translate findings into clear recommendations for portfolio leadership.
- Drive integration between the Portfolio & Pipeline Strategy function and the broader organization, establishing the information flows, standards, and cross-functional ways of working needed to ensure alignment between portfolio-level decisions and functional plans, and surfacing emerging risks, issues, dependencies or opportunities.
- Serve as a senior strategic advisor to the Head of Portfolio & Pipeline Strategy by independently leading priority Portfolio Systems and Intelligence workstreams, framing complex issues and recommendations, and ensuring senior leadership and Board-level discussions are supported by rigorous, integrated portfolio insights.
- Help build and maintain the operating model for Portfolio & Pipeline Strategy, including team rhythms, communication cadences, meeting structures, and onboarding for new team members and governance participants.
- Identify opportunities to improve how portfolio management is done at RevMed, including process improvements, capability gaps, and tools investments. Translate findings into actionable proposals and lead their implementation.
- Model RevMed’s values and contribute to a high-performance team culture characterized by intellectual rigor, collaborative problem-solving, and a shared commitment to patients.
Required Skills, Experience and Education:
- 10+ years of experience in portfolio management, strategy, or a related function within a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company, with increasing scope and responsibility.
- Direct experience with portfolio governance, including support of portfolio review committees, decision tracking, and cross-functional coordination at the program level.
- Strong systems thinking and data fluency — ability to design or improve portfolio tracking tools and dashboards, work with structured data, and translate complex information into clear, decision-ready outputs.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects with minimal supervision, balancing rigor with pragmatism and speed.
- Excellent communication and executive presence — ability to prepare and present materials for senior leadership, simplify complex topics, and build credibility quickly with a broad range of stakeholders.
- High degree of operational savvy and organizational awareness — understands how things get done in a matrixed organization and knows how to navigate ambiguity and competing priorities.
- Experience with oncology drug development preferred; familiarity with clinical-stage pipeline operations and program decision-making is a significant asset.
- Experience and proficiency with modeling on portfolio management platforms.
Preferred Skills:
- Advanced degree (MBA, MS, or PhD) preferred but not required.
- Prior experience in a chief of staff, strategy, or business operations role at a clinical-stage biotech.
