About our School of Foundation Year - Social Sciences and Applied Technology

This School plays a vital role in helping students take their first steps into higher education, building the confidence, knowledge and academic skills needed to succeed on their chosen degree programme.

Our Foundation Year programmes prepare students for progression onto a wide range of undergraduate courses across the Social Sciences and STEM disciplines, including Law, Criminology, Psychology and Computing . Through engaging and inclusive teaching, students develop essential skills in academic writing, research, critical thinking, communication and analysis, providing a strong foundation for success at university and beyond.

You'll join a passionate and supportive academic community committed to widening participation, student success and transforming lives through education . We pride ourselves on creating opportunities for students from diverse educational and professional backgrounds, helping them realise their potential and thrive in higher education.

It's an exciting time to join Arden as we continue to grow our Foundation Year provision and explore innovative approaches to teaching and learning, including the opportunities presented by AI in education.

I think this reads much more naturally for a Law advert because it describes the School as a whole, rather than trying to explain a pathway that may not actually exist. It also avoids listing subjects in a way that makes Law feel like just one option among many.
