About this role

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer This role will focus on designing, building, and improving mechanical solutions that support robot integration while partnering closely with cross-functional teams to drive projects from concept through implementation. The ideal candidate is a hands-on mechanical engineer with experience working in fast-paced product development environments. This individual will be comfortable balancing design work, vendor coordination, prototype builds, testing, and project execution while navigating ambiguity and shifting priorities. Experience with vehicles, robotics, automotive systems, or personal automotive/robotics projects is highly valued.
### Key Responsibilities
Create mechanical designs, detailed drawings, and production documentation using CAD software. Develop and modify vehicle-integrated hardware solutions that support robotics systems deployed within delivery vans. Work directly with vendors and suppliers to support fabrication, sourcing, manufacturing, and design improvements. Coordinate prototype and production builds, including scheduling, logistics, and hardware readiness. Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, and robotics teams to ensure successful system integration. Support hardware testing, troubleshooting, and design validation activities. Drive projects from concept through deployment, balancing technical requirements, cost, manufacturability, and schedule constraints. Manage engineering change requests, drawing updates, and design revisions throughout the product lifecycle. Partner with internal stakeholders to identify and resolve mechanical design challenges in a rapidly evolving environment. Provide hands-on support during prototype assembly, integration activities, and field testing when needed. Track project timelines and deliverables while helping coordinate cross-functional activities to ensure successful execution.
### Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Experience creating 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and design documentation. Experience working with vendors, suppliers, and manufacturing partners. Understanding of common manufacturing processes, including machining, fabrication, assembly, and prototyping. Experience taking products or mechanical systems from concept through implementation. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and make decisions in environments with evolving requirements and limited direction.
### Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting vehicle, automotive, transportation, or robotics-related products. Experience with mechanical system integration and hardware development. Familiarity with prototype builds, testing, and production support activities. Experience coordinating schedules, managing project tasks, and driving technical projects to completion. Experience working in a fast-paced product development environment. Hands-on experience with vehicles, robotics, fabrication, or personal engineering projects outside of work is a plus. Work Environment This role is onsite in Bellevue, WA, requiring attendance 5 days a week. You will be part of a collaborative team of designers and engineers.
