Build an Aviation Career You’re Proud Of

At StandardAero, we use our ingenuity and know-how to find solutions for the simple to the most complex challenges in aviation. Together, we get the job done and done well. Our stability, resources, and respectful culture support you in building a solid career with a great team you can count on day in and day out for the long term.

As an Operations Manager , you’ll oversee daily production operations within the engine assembly and manufacturing division, ensuring safety, quality, cost, and delivery objectives are achieved across all production lines. This role drives operational excellence through production planning, resource management, process improvement, workforce development, and cross-functional collaboration to meet strategic objectives for aerospace and aviation engine programs.

What You’ll Do

- Direct daily engine and component operations across multiple shifts, including planning, scheduling, workflow management from surface preparation through final inspection, daily work order assignments, production priorities, and resource allocation. Run daily tier meetings, review shortages and priorities, track completion against plan, and schedule and prioritize Cycle 2 reworks to align production output with customer delivery timelines and StandardAero standards.
- Balance available labor, machine hours, maintenance downtime, and incoming workload across multiple work centers and product lines. Monitor cell operations, equipment capacity, labor utilization, and production performance to maintain high-volume or precision output and identify opportunities to improve labor efficiency and operational effectiveness.
- Lead, coach, and develop inspectors, technicians, mechanics, machinists, grinders, balancing technicians, sheet-metal personnel, and support staff. Provide technical guidance and mentoring, support employee training and career development, build technical expertise and accountability, and champion StandardAero’s culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Ensure adherence to applicable FAA, OSHA, EPA, and StandardAero safety and environmental requirements. Maintain compliance with hazardous material handling, waste management, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and partner with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) to assess risks and prevent incidents.
- Ensure aircraft finishes meet customer specifications and StandardAero quality standards. Recognize flight- and product-safety-critical parts and processes, establish measures of performance (MOPs), support performance analysis, and develop improvement actions. Partner with Quality and Engineering to resolve defects, maintain approved processes, ensure product traceability and required documentation, and address nonconformances.
- Review operational performance, quality issues, and rework requirements; lead root-cause analysis teams; coordinate corrective actions with cross-functional partners; and implement improvements to labor efficiency, cell operations, cycle time, recurring delays, rework, scrap, and waste. Apply Lean manufacturing, 5S, standard work, value-stream mapping, and root-cause analysis to support continuous improvement.
- Manage departmental budgets and monitor labor efficiency, overtime, utilization, rework, scrap, material usage, and cost per unit or repair. Use production data and performance measures to evaluate results, identify cost-saving opportunities, make informed decisions, and improve operational performance.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and work with Maintenance to assess and resolve machine, CNC, manual tooling, and equipment failures. Manage tool crib and inventory supplies, coordinate material and resource availability, and work with Materials, Planning, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and downstream assembly or overhaul operations to support production requirements.
- Partner with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Program Management, Materials, Planning, Maintenance, and downstream production teams to meet or exceed customer commitments. Coordinate production priorities, technical issues, capacity requirements, and recovery actions across work centers and product lines.
- Provide leadership with accurate production status, performance updates, and recovery plans; escalate risks early; and support data-driven operational decisions. Serve as a customer-facing leader when required, communicate production updates, resolve concerns with appropriate partners, and support customer satisfaction.

Basic Qualifications

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing operations, preferably in engine assembly or component production.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams in a regulated manufacturing, maintenance, repair, or overhaul environment.
- Experience using manufacturing or repair execution systems to monitor work orders, production status, workflow, or operational performance.
- Familiarity with nonconformance reports (NCRs) and documented quality processes.
- Experience reviewing production data or operational metrics related to labor efficiency, overtime, utilization, rework, scrap, material usage, or cost per unit or repair.
- Experience reviewing production operations and rework requirements to identify and implement improvements in labor efficiency and cell performance.
- Experience training, mentoring, or providing technical guidance to mechanics, technicians, or other production personnel.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, including creating spreadsheets, documents, presentations, and other tools to support daily operational activities.
- Demonstrated experience prioritizing work, making operational decisions, and resolving technical issues in a fast-paced, technically complex production environment.

- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and/or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experience with production capacity planning and forecasting.
- Experience leading operations in an aircraft engine maintenance, manufacturing, repair, or overhaul environment, including coordinating work across machinists, grinders, balancing technicians, sheet-metal personnel, and other production teams.
- Experience interacting with customers in a maintenance, production, or technical environment.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience applying 5S, standard work, value-stream mapping, and root-cause analysis to reduce recurring delays and waste.
