- Handle all incoming phone calls, faxes, and electronic orders, triaging documents and orders to the appropriate team members for order typing and further processing.
- Take in drug orders via fax and other electronic formats, reviewing details for accuracy and completeness before entry.

- Answer questions from facilities and patients regarding medications and general order status, referring callers to a pharmacist for clinical medication information when needed.
- Utilize Frameworks and Frameworks ECM to manage orders, patient profiles, and documentation efficiently.
- Support a consistent workflow in a repetitive but detail-oriented role, managing a variety of orders that require careful review and correct processing.
- Collaborate with other pharmacy team members to ensure timely and accurate handling of all incoming orders and communications.
Essential Skills
- Registered pharmacy technician with the State of Minnesota; national certification alone does not meet this requirement.
- Minimum of 6 months of pharmacy experience, with practical knowledge and familiarity with SIG codes to recognize and interpret prescription labels.
- Proficiency in data entry with strong accuracy and attention to detail.
- Customer service experience, including handling phone calls and assisting facilities and patients with questions.
- Ability to verify completeness and accuracy of prescription and refill request information.
- Capability to process prescriptions using third-party insurance billing systems.
- Effective verbal communication skills for interacting with long-term care facilities, pharmacists, nurses, physicians, and patients.
- Ability to triage incoming phone calls, faxes, and electronic orders and route them appropriately.
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn and use pharmacy software systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working as a pharmacy technician in a long-term care or closed-door pharmacy setting is beneficial.
- Familiarity with SIG codes and pharmacy terminology to support efficient order entry and label interpretation.
- Comfort working in a repetitive, process-driven role while maintaining focus and accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple incoming orders and communications simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently at an assigned desk while collaborating effectively with the broader pharmacy team.
- Interest in contributing to a growing pharmacy operation with opportunities to support process improvement and high-quality service.
