About this role
Position Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Content Capture & Media Specialist to capture, source, and manage the photo and video content that shows Red Cat's systems in action. The role combines direct field capture (on the water, on the range, on the production floor, and at events) with managing content produced by outside agencies, freelancers, partners, and customers.
The role is dedicated primarily to Blue Ops, Red Cat's maritime division. The remaining time supports Red Cat Holdings corporate content and the company's other product lines and brands, to support multi-domain content capture and integrated story telling.
Working closely with the Blue Ops President, Red Cat Marketing, Business Development, Engineering, and Military Operations, this person turns raw footage into finished, release-ready assets for sales, social media, the web, events, recruiting, and executive communications, whether the footage was shot in-house or sourced from outside.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Field Content Capture
- Capture professional photography and video of Blue Ops vessels and operations, including sea trials, customer demonstrations, military exercises, testing events, and operational milestones.
- Operate on the water and in austere field conditions, including from chase boats, piers, and support vessels, to get dynamic footage of uncrewed surface vessels underway.
- Capture aerial footage using small uncrewed aircraft, including Red Cat platforms, in compliance with FAA and range requirements.
- Document vessel manufacturing, integration, and engineering work to tell the story of American-built maritime autonomy.
- Capture event coverage at industry conferences, trade shows, executive speaking engagements, and customer visits across Red Cat business units.
- Shoot headshots, team photos, employee spotlights, and facility imagery supporting recruiting and employer branding.
- Plan shoots in advance with shot lists, schedules, and logistics coordinated with Engineering, Military Operations, and range or test-site leads.
Editing and Post-Production
- Edit raw footage into finished assets, including hero videos, capability reels, short-form social clips, event recaps, and after-action highlight videos.
- Retouch, color-grade, and prepare photography for web, print, sales collateral, press releases, and trade show graphics.
- Produce fast-turnaround content from the field, delivering usable social and internal assets within 24 to 48 hours of major events.
- Write scripts, captions, lower thirds, and short-form copy that accompany video and photo content.
- Create simple motion graphics, titles, and animated overlays consistent with Blue Ops and Red Cat brand standards.
- Deliver assets in formats optimized for each channel, including LinkedIn, X, YouTube, the website, email, presentations, and large-format displays.
Agency, Partner, and Externally Sourced Content
- Brief, direct, and manage creative agencies, production companies, and freelance photographers, videographers, and editors for work that cannot be staffed in-house.
- Write creative briefs, shot lists, and statements of work; review cuts and drive revisions to on-time, on-brand delivery.
- Source and manage content from partners, customers, government programs, and military public affairs channels, securing usage rights and release approvals.
- Coordinate content from Red Cat business units and product teams so corporate and product brand channels draw from one approved pool.
- Hold all outside content to Blue Ops and Red Cat brand, quality, and security standards before publication.
- Manage production budgets, vendor invoices, licensing, and model and location releases.
Content Strategy and Distribution
- Maintain a content capture calendar aligned to the Blue Ops operational schedule, product launches, and Red Cat marketing priorities.
- Partner with Marketing to supply visual content for campaigns, press releases, website updates, sales presentations, and investor communications.
- Support Business Development with demo videos, capability highlights, and leave-behind media tailored to specific customers and programs.
- Supply the Blue Ops President and Red Cat executives with visuals for board presentations, keynotes, congressional briefings, and partner announcements.
Security Review and Release
- Ensure all captured and externally sourced content complies with ITAR, EAR, OPSEC, and customer release requirements before distribution.
- Coordinate content review with Engineering, Security, and customer stakeholders, and maintain records of approved-for-release assets.
- Follow range, installation, and customer rules for photography and recording at government and military sites.
Asset Management
- Build and manage the enterprise photo and video library for Blue Ops, Red Cat corporate, and each product brand, with consistent file naming, metadata, tagging, usage rights, and release status so any team can find approved assets quickly.
- Maintain and manage camera, audio, lighting, and drone equipment, and recommend equipment investments.
- Track content performance and recommend improvements to engagement and reach.
- Support additional marketing and communications initiatives across Red Cat as assigned.
Required Qualifications

- Demonstrated experience managing creative agencies, production vendors, and freelancers, including briefs, budgets, schedules, and usage rights.
- A portfolio demonstrating field capture, finished edited work, and projects produced through outside teams (required with application).
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Lightroom, and Photoshop, or equivalent tools such as DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro.
- Strong command of professional camera systems, lenses, audio capture, lighting, and stabilization equipment.
- Proven ability to deliver polished content on tight deadlines while managing multiple projects across several brands.
- Ability to translate technical capabilities into clear, compelling visual stories for military, government, and commercial audiences.
