About this role

Store Manager — Scooter’s Coffee

Eau Claire, WI | Bean Drip Services LLC
Are you a natural leader who thinks ahead, takes initiative, and knows how to bring out the best in people?
We’re looking for a Store Manager who can build a strong team, keep operations running smoothly, and create a welcoming presence in the Eau Claire community. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment, takes pride in doing things right, and understands that great management is about more than getting through the day.
We need someone who can see the big picture, anticipate problems, delegate effectively, and hold people accountable without becoming angry, passive, or disrespectful. Our ideal manager builds a store that runs well because the team is trained, supported, and capable—not because the manager has to do everything themselves.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Lead and Develop Your Team
• Hire, train, coach, and develop employees and Shift Leads.
• Delegate responsibilities clearly and follow up to ensure tasks are completed correctly.
• Set expectations and address performance issues promptly, fairly, and professionally.
• Build a team that takes ownership instead of relying on the manager to solve every problem.
• Lead by example while empowering others to grow.

Think Ahead and Own Operations
• Multitask effectively while maintaining awareness of the entire store.
• Anticipate rushes, staffing gaps, inventory needs, and unfinished tasks before they become problems.
• Prioritize competing demands and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Oversee scheduling, labor costs, inventory, food pulls, cleanliness, food safety, and product quality.
• Verify important tasks are completed rather than assuming they were done.
• Identify recurring problems and develop solutions instead of continually reacting to the same issues.

Communicate with Confidence and Respect
• Give clear, direct instructions without taking frustration out on the team.
• Address difficult situations calmly rather than avoiding conflict or becoming confrontational.
• Accept feedback, take responsibility for mistakes, and follow through on commitments.
• Hold people accountable while treating them with dignity and respect.

Build Community Connections
• Develop relationships with local businesses, schools, and community organizations.
• Coordinate fundraisers, local partnerships, events, and outreach opportunities.
• Represent Scooter’s Coffee positively and find creative ways to connect with our community.

What We're Looking For
• Previous leadership or management experience; food service, coffee, retail, or hospitality experience is preferred.
• Strong multitasking, prioritization, delegation, and problem-solving skills.
• A proactive mindset: you notice what needs to be done and take initiative without waiting for instructions.
• Dependability, organization, emotional maturity, and a strong sense of accountability.
• Schedule flexibility, including early mornings, weekends, and occasional operational coverage needs.
• Residence within a reasonable commuting distance of our Eau Claire store, so you can be present and respond when genuine operational needs arise.
• An interest in community involvement and developing people into stronger employees and leaders.

We respect personal time and want to build a team with reliable systems and leadership coverage. Flexibility is important, but our goal is not for the manager to be on call for every routine problem.
What We Offer
• Health stipend to help offset healthcare expenses.
• Two weeks of paid vacation.
• Eligibility for performance-based bonuses.
• Schedule flexibility and the opportunity to help shape how your store operates.
• The opportunity to build a strong team, develop future leaders, and make a meaningful impact in the Eau Claire community.

Schedule, Availability & Location Requirements
This is a hands-on leadership position, and your presence during key business hours is essential to the success of our store.
• Required peak-hour leadership: You must be available to work most Thursday and Friday morning rushes, approximately 6–9 a.m., and most weekend morning rushes, approximately 8–11 a.m.
• Commute: You must live within a reasonable commuting distance of our Eau Claire location and be able to reliably arrive on time for early-morning shifts.
• Schedule flexibility: You must be willing to adjust your schedule when business needs require it, including occasional staffing gaps, operational issues, and important store events.
• Leadership coverage: You must be willing to help coordinate coverage and respond appropriately when unexpected staffing issues arise. The goal is to build a dependable team and strong Shift Leads, not to rely on the manager to cover every call-out personally.

We value work-life balance and respect scheduled time off. However, this role requires someone whose availability aligns with our busiest operating hours and who can be a consistent, dependable presence for their team.
Please consider your commute and recurring availability carefully before applying.

Ready to Lead?
We’re not looking for someone who simply wants to be in charge. We want someone who takes ownership, thinks two steps ahead, develops their people, and creates an environment where high standards and a positive team culture go hand in hand.
If you see problems as opportunities to improve, can lead with both kindness and confidence, and take pride in building something that lasts, we’d love to meet you.
Help us build a great team, one cup and one community connection at a time.
