Description

The CNC Programmer will support Hanwha Aerospace USA's aerospace manufacturing operations by developing, improving, and troubleshooting CNC programs for complex precision components. The role partners closely with Engineering and shop-floor teams to translate drawings, CAD models, customer specifications, and manufacturing requirements into efficient machining strategies, with a strong focus on process improvement, cutting-tool optimization, quality, and delivery.

Daily responsibilities include analyzing drawings and models, determining machining sequences, selecting cutting tools, establishing speeds and feeds, creating cutter setups and operation instructions, developing and revising CNC programs, and implementing corrective actions for programming-related nonconformances. The programmer will also support machine-side prove-out by running and debugging programs, verifying dimensional adjustments and machining parameters, setting tools using precision equipment such as Zoller pre-setters, and continuously improving programs using new processes and technologies.

The successful candidate should bring 5+ years of CNC programming experience, strong practical machining and shop-floor knowledge, advanced blueprint interpretation, CAD/CAM programming capability, and the ability to independently solve programming and manufacturing-process problems. The position directly impacts manufacturing readiness, machining efficiency, component quality, cycle time, production continuity, and Hanwha's ability to meet customer delivery commitments on flight-critical aerospace and defense components.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

A technical degree, diploma, machining certificate, apprenticeship, or equivalent combination of education and directly applicable experience is preferred. Candidates with substantial hands-on machining and programming experience should be considered even if they followed a nontraditional education path.

Formal training in CNC programming, CAD/CAM, blueprint reading, GD&T, tooling, machining methods, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or process planning is valuable.

Candidates should demonstrate experience working directly with machinists during program prove-out and production support. Aerospace experience is strongly preferred, particularly involving rotating components, engine hardware, tight-tolerance parts, difficult-to-machine materials, or complex multi-operation manufacturing processes.

Experience programming both turning and milling equipment is highly desirable. Candidates should be comfortable balancing safety, quality, cycle time, tool life, production urgency, and long-term process stability.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $83000.00 - $125000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
