What You’ll Do:
- Engineer, build, and operate network solutions supporting global data centers, cloud platforms, and product connectivity.
- Optimize global backbone routing and highly available Layer 3 architectures using BGP, OSPF, routing policies, redundancy, and traffic engineering.
- Implement secure segmentation, boundary controls, and traffic isolation to meet security and compliance requirements.
- Deliver hybrid and cloud-native connectivity across AWS, Azure, and GCP using dedicated interconnects, VPNs, transit gateways, and cloud routing services.
- Develop and maintain network automation using Python, Ansible/AWX, and Git-driven CI/CD workflows for provisioning, configuration, compliance, and validation.
- Own day-to-day network availability and performance through proactive monitoring, telemetry, capacity planning, configuration drift detection, and lifecycle management.
- Troubleshoot complex routing, switching, TCP/IP, and connectivity issues; lead or support major incidents in accordance with escalation and reporting procedures.
- Execute changes, upgrades, and migrations using documented methods of procedure (MOPs), approvals, pre- and post-change validation, and tested rollback plans.
- Partner with Security and Compliance teams to remediate vulnerabilities and maintain secure network software, firmware, and configurations.
- Build security controls and compliance checks into automated workflows, including least privilege, encryption, logging, evidence collection, and safe rollback.
- Validate network software, routing changes, automation, and security controls in controlled environments before production deployment.
- Translate product, platform, and regulatory requirements into actionable network designs and delivery plans with clear timelines and dependencies.
- Manage vendor escalations, procurement, RMA workflows, and equipment lifecycle; evaluate technologies for resilience, performance, automation, compliance suitability, and cost.
- Maintain accurate architecture and boundary diagrams, runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and control documentation to support operations, audits, and continuous monitoring.
- Mentor engineers through technical deep dives, structured troubleshooting, design reviews, and post-incident learning while fostering a kind, collaborative team environment.
What You Bring:
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 10+ years of network engineering experience in large-scale, multi-region, and global routing environments.
- Deep hands-on expertise with BGP and OSPF, including route propagation, routing policy, traffic engineering, ECMP, route reflectors, and multi-vendor interoperability.
- Strong engineering and operational experience with JunOS; experience with Juniper MX, QFX, and SRX platforms preferred. Familiarity with EOS, NX-OS, or IOS-XE is a plus.
- Advanced knowledge of F5 BIG-IP architecture, iRules, LTM, DNS/GTM, SSL/TLS, WAF (ASM/AWAF), and highly available enterprise deployments.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across routing, switching, TCP/IP, asymmetric paths, latency, packet loss, MTU/fragmentation, and QoS, using logs, packet captures, and network diagnostic tools.
- Hands-on experience with hybrid and cloud-native networking in AWS, Azure, and/or GCP, including services such as Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, Transit Gateway, Virtual WAN, and cloud routers.
- Proficiency in Python, Ansible/AWX, configuration templating, Git workflows, and automated testing and validation pipelines.
- Strong understanding of network security controls, boundary protection, segmentation, encryption, and logging.
- Familiarity with firewalls, VPNs, DDoS mitigation, IDS/IPS, and NIST 800-53-based security frameworks.
- Strong incident leadership and cross-functional communication skills, with the ability to coordinate teams effectively under pressure.
- An analytical, structured approach to problem-solving and the ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced, regulated environments.
