About the Role

Sperton is looking for a Senior Java Developer with strong AWS experience to support our client in developing and maintaining scalable, cloud-native software solutions.

In this role, you will contribute to the design and development of modern backend services using Java, microservices, serverless architecture, and AWS cloud technologies. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment, contributing to technical decisions, software quality, and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering expertise with practical AWS experience and is comfortable working collaboratively through pair programming, mob programming, and modern DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, test, and maintain backend applications using Java.
- Build and maintain scalable microservices and serverless solutions.
- Develop and manage cloud-native services using AWS, including Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and SQS.
- Use AWS CloudFormation to define and manage cloud infrastructure.
- Contribute to software architecture and technical design decisions.
- Collaborate with developers and other stakeholders in an Agile environment.
- Support CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and continuous delivery.
- Work closely with DevOps and other engineering teams to deliver reliable software solutions.
- Contribute to troubleshooting, performance improvements, and production readiness.

Required Qualifications

- Extensive professional experience in Java development.
- Strong understanding of microservices and serverless architecture.
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
- Practical experience with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, SQS, and CloudFormation.
- Good understanding of Agile software development methodologies.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Experience with container-based architectures.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Experience with Spring Boot.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD.
- English proficiency for written and verbal communication.
