Kowalski Companies is a civic business. We have been family-owned since 1983, when Jim and Mary Kowalski opened the first location on Grand Ave. in St. Paul. Part of being a civic business means we focus on ensuring sustainability and providing the best possible customer service.
Your main duties will be to maintain the hot foods case, pasta bar, burrito bar, wing bar, and the rotisserie chickens. This means following the Kowalskis procedures for preparation, handling, sanitation, freshness, and quality. A deli chef needs excellent time management skills to prepare for the lunch and dinner rushes throughout the day. Good communication is critical to keeping all areas of the deli freshly stocked with good food, so our customers have all options available to them. You must follow strict health and safety guidelines to prevent any accidents, injuries, or illnesses.
Food service experience helpful but not required. We will train you!
Store Hours:
6 am - 10 pm
Deli Hours:
5 am - 9 pm
Requirements
- Must have evening availability (shifts include 12 - 9 pm)
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must have year-round availability
- Flexible to schedule up to 30 hours/week
- Must be available weekends & holidays
- Ensure quality and safety of food
- Comfortable speaking to customers in an energetic and helpful manner
- Ability to work independently
- Interest in preparing, handling, and cooking food
- Interest in product knowledge
- Understand that you have the power to impact customers and coworkers day in a positive way
