You’ll make an impact by:
- You will act as the Team Architect and Technical Leader of a cross-functional, multi-location Agile/Scrum team, aligning architectural designs within the Scaled Agile Framework environment (SAFe)
- Drive the VIC Product Evolution: Define, design, and own the scalable platform architecture for the Visual Inspection Cockpit (VIC), Siemens' flagship Industrial AI edge product designed for high-speed, inline defect detection and metrology
- Bridge AI and Computer Vision: Architect the integration of deep-learning-based semantic segmentation models with classic computer vision post-processing pipelines to ensure robust, real-time inspection
- OT-IT & Edge Integration: Champion the technical solutions for deploying resource-efficient, GPU-accelerated workloads on Siemens Industrial Edge Devices, ensuring seamless closed-loop connectivity with PLCs and factory automation systems
- Represent Technical Vision: Proactively collaborate with Product Owners and Portfolio Architects to translate complex business demands and emerging machine vision trends into production-ready software designs
Your success is grounded in:
- At least 10 years of hands-on experience in software development
- Proficiency in Python and C++
- Deep knowledge of Object-Oriented Design (OOD), Multithreaded/High-Throughput programming and complex, system-level software integration
- Machine Vision & IP Integration
- Solid theoretical and practical experience (ideally 8+ years of relevant experience) with traditional image processing techniques (OpenCV is a must) and deep learning-based object detection/segmentation
- Hands-on experience integrating industrial cameras, lenses, customized illumination setups, and optical systems
- Practical experience with Data Acquisition (DAQ) and interfacing vision applications with PLC systems via industrial protocols
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Proven track record of guiding engineering teams, defining software guidelines, and mentoring senior developers
You’ll stand out with:
- Languages: Experience with Go
- Deep Industry Experience: Proven track record of deploying complex machine vision products directly into production environments (e.g., CPG, Semiconductor, or Automotive lines) in a senior architect or tech lead role
- High-Performance Architectures: Proven experience in designing real-time, low-latency architectures utilizing GPU-accelerated image processing (CUDA, TensorRT)
- Edge & Cloud Technologies: Experience with Docker/containerization, Linux-based embedded OS, and Siemens Industrial Edge platform or Industrial AI Suite
- Advanced Degrees: Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Computer Vision
