Server Job Description
Position Summary
The Server provides friendly, attentive, and efficient service to guests. This role takes and delivers orders, answers menu questions, and helps create a positive dining experience while following food safety and service standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet guests promptly and courteously; explain menu items and make recommendations.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them into the point-of-sale system.
- Serve orders efficiently and check in with guests to ensure satisfaction.
- Respond to guest questions, requests, and concerns professionally.
- Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked service areas.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, responsible alcohol service, and cash-handling procedures.
- Coordinate with kitchen and service team members to ensure accurate, timely service.
- Process payments accurately and thank guests for their business.
- Perform opening, closing, and side-work duties as assigned.
- Follow venue policies and complete other related duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong communication and customer-service skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Basic math skills and attention to detail.
- Previous serving experience preferred; training may be provided.
- Required food-handler and alcohol-service certifications, where applicable.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to carry trays and lift or move items as required by the role.
- Ability to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
