YOUR IMPACT
We are looking for an Executive Director to join the EMEA Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities ("FICC") business within Private Wealth Management to help with platform development, business strategy and risk and regulatory oversight for the FICC Business. The FICC business is in active growth mode with ambitious revenue and franchise targets, and this role will be instrumental in building the infrastructure, governance and operating discipline needed to scale successfully.
This is a high-visibility role, partnering directly with the Head of EMEA FICC PWM and senior stakeholders across Risk, Compliance, Legal, Finance, Operations and Technology. You will act as the "glue" that holds the business together operationally — translating ambitious growth targets into concrete business plans, ensuring the business remains ahead of regulatory expectations, and driving cross-functional projects that uplift the franchise's capabilities, controls and efficiency.
Business Management & Strategy
- Partner with the EMEA PWM Capital Markets leadership team to define, track and report progress against growth targets, business plans and strategic priorities
- Own the business's management information (MI) and reporting suite — revenue, flows, risk and productivity metrics — presenting insights to senior management and leadership
- Leverage AI tools to prepare ad hoc reports and analysis of the FICC business
Regulatory & Governance
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory matters affecting the EMEA FICC PWM business, including engagement with Compliance, Legal and Risk partners
- Monitor the evolving regulatory landscape (e.g., MiFID II, SMCR, Consumer Duty, cross-border considerations) and assess business impact
- Own and maintain governance frameworks, policies and procedures relevant to the FICC business, ensuring audit and regulatory readiness
- Prepare materials for and manage governance committees, risk forums and regulatory reviews
Project & Change Management
- Lead end-to-end delivery of strategic and operational "uplift" projects — spanning technology, controls, process re-engineering and new product/market launches
- Act as a liaison between the front office and Engineering, Operations, Compliance and Legal to translate business requirements into deliverable solutions
- Drive efficiency initiatives to streamline workflows, reduce manual processes and enhance the client and advisor experience
- Manage project plans, timelines, stakeholder communication and risk/issue tracking across multiple concurrent initiatives
Leadership & Culture
- Act as a trusted advisor and thought partner to the business head and senior franchise leaders
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement across the team
- Represent the EMEA FICC PWM business in cross-divisional and global forums
REQUIREMENTS
- Ideally over 10 years of experience in a Business Management, COO, Chief of Staff, Strategy, or Franchise Management role within a Markets, FICC, or Wealth Management business, ideally within a regulated financial institution
- Strong understanding of FICC products and/or private wealth management client needs is highly desirable
- Demonstrated experience navigating regulatory frameworks and engaging with Compliance, Legal and Risk functions
- Proven track record of leading cross-functional projects from inception to delivery, with strong project management discipline
- Excellent quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into clear, actionable business insights
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills, with the gravitas to engage senior leadership and regulators
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias for action — comfortable operating in ambiguity and building processes from scratch
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities under pressure
- Relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification with an excellent academic record
- Experience with data/reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Alteryx, SQL) and AI coding tools is a plus
